It's very important to all of us and future generations of Americans to preserve and support our state SHPOs and THPOs! They watch over our irreplaceable cultural resources every day.REPORT COMMENTS

How would you like it if someone bulldozed your grandma's grave? Destroyed the altar at your church? Blew up the Statue of Liberty? Not so good, huh? Destroying the graves and sacred sites of Native Americans is exactly that kind of action. How would you feel if the ones that did it held you at gunpoint for complaining? Congratulated themselves on making money from their actions? Justified it because it would give someone a temporary job? Pipelines can be moved to another route. How would you feel if someone put poison in your drinking water? Not so good, huh. The Historic Preservation Act, the Native American Graves Protection and Repatriation Act, and other laws should be honored. Breaking the law just so the rich can get richer is not a good thing.REPORT COMMENTS

As a professional archaeologist, the fact that this is even an issue is baffling!! Not only is my job in jeopardy but anyone who enjoys history, museums, reenactments, recreated sites, etc will also be affected. Those who don't know their history are bound to repeat it.REPORT COMMENTS

Please, our cultural heritage is at stake in this country by corporations and land development. We must continue to protect historic structures and buried cultural remains. We have seen what has happened in the Middle East as cultural sites are being wiped out, our sites are wiped out by greed and capitalism. All I ask is that archaeological and historical studies continue in order to document and preserve these important sites throughout our great nation.REPORT COMMENTS
