The passing of this bill is something that is extremely important to me as an archaeologist, however, what is at stake here is the legacy we leave our children and future generations. The Historic Preservation Fund drives the core historic preservation work done in the US today. It enables important research in both recent and distant pasts, and facilitates the empowerment of diverse voices within our nation. Studying and preserving the diverse past helps us to understand who we were and who we are in the present. If we do not learn from the past, we are bound to repeat the errors we have made, and to loose valuable information about our prior great achievements.REPORT COMMENTS
