    When the USPS gave up the monopoly on parcel post the result was UPS, when they gave up the monoply on express mail we got FEDEX, the current bill is one more move in a long progression of choices in minimizing or perhaps eliminating the Postal Service. There is no doubt that eliminating the Postal Service will bring a commercial replacement who will do a similar job but at a higher cost to the public. Big business will profit and the general public will pay. Please remember that the incentive for business is always profit. The USPS has operated under the mandate for universal service. Will big business offer the same six day service to those who live in rural areas and may not have the resources to generate a lot of revenue?
