HR 2309 is being put forward as a method to save the postal service, when it is really being pushed to dismantle it. The merits of HR 1351 far outweigh this bill and would constructively help put the Postal Service on the right track to financial security. Please do not support HR 2309 when it comes for a vote by the full House. Could you also please tell me why is bipartisan bill HR 1351 with a majority of 226 cosponsors not being brought up at the committee it reports to while HR 2309 with just 1 cosponsors was rushed through the committee so it could be on its way for a floor vote? Didn't the Constitution set up the House of Representatives to represent the majority of citizens and not enact legislation that would benefit very few? Thank you.

why are you trying to kill the last working thing in America. The last thing thats not sent by a machine something americans can count on to be delivered every day through rain sleet or snow, not having to depend on the internet being down, slow speed, viruses, not getting that special letters, like the boys in the wars get. Grandmas special birthday card with $10.00 in it, means alot a personnel letter from Santa, don't take away the last American dream. Tons of people, jobs, will be affected by the lost of the PO. Ebay mailers, medicine by mail for the eldery whos life depend on it, numerous other mailers who ship their products to your door, can the USA really afford more unemployed people? Can Americans live off low paying jobs, must have money to spend money to keep the world going round. Think about the little people for a change not what wealthy oil companies give you, because soon without the little people who is going to be able to buy the over priced gas, electricty, water, food can the goverment support all the unemployed? Give assistance to all Americans who will be living in proverty. Please think before you act and walk in a mailmans shoes 1 time. Cut the pension paying no one else anywhere has to do this. Thank you for your time..

HR-1351 is an overall better plan to solve the USPS financial problems!

I also oppose Darrell Issa and his one-man crusade to single-handedly ignore the will of the bi-partisan Congress and the American people. HR1351 NOW.

As a retired letter carrier, the falsehoods being spread by the Postal Service leaders are tremendous! The Postal Service OVERPAID into a retirement system (forced by an earlier Congress), If that $$ was returned......... financial troubles resolved. This is an attempt by some to PRIVATIZE the Postal Service, which would be a disaster.

I am a Republican voter. I have voted Republican since I turned 21 in 1954. I served my country both in the USMC and US Army for 9 years. I then served my country for another 28 years in the USPOD and USPS. Iwas proud all those years that I wore the uniforms of those services. Now one of the services that I served is in trouble and some of the changes your bill will make will only do further harm to the USPS. There are many things wrong with the USPS and you can blame them all on upper level management. In their zeal to get themselves bonuses they spent billions on un-neccesary buildings, vehicles and machines that required bigger buildings. Every article I see says that the USPS spends 80% on labor. My opinion is that figure should be 90% by doing away with 220,000 LLVs and machines that were supposed to speed up the mail but does nothing but destroy magazines, advertisments and letters.

Please ensure H.R. 1351 receives your support. H.R. 2309 is NOT the way to address the the Postal Service's problems.

The Republican party should change their name to the Wall Street party. When I hear them talk about Unions having to much power, what I hear is that the American people have to much power. It's not that people that are lucky enough to be members of a union make to much money, it's the fact that people that don't work for a union don't make enough!!! Stop this BS now! There are other better alternatives.
