This is a horrible idea. And you know it. Do the right thing once in awhile.REPORT COMMENTS

Veterans like myself can not afford to lose these middle class jobs. Cutting postal facilities would only result in higher unemployment around the country. Do not support HR 2309.REPORT COMMENTS

The USPS have provided thousands of returning veterans with secure middle-class jobs for as long as they have been returning from active duty, and some have remained active reservists, bravely serving our country in Iraq and Afghanistan. However,if HR 2309 is passed it would strip away the security that these middle-class jobs have provided. The legislation that I am speaking of is HR 2309, which has been proposed by Representative Darrell Issa (R-Vista CA). If passed, HR 2309 would call for the closing of thousands of postal facilities, reduce the number of days of mail delivery, and would allow the Postal Service to lay off as many of 120,000 career postal worker just as they are nearing retirement age. There are provisions within the legislation that would disallow the layed off worker any severance pay, and would strip them of the health benefits that they have contributed into over the years that they have been employee by the USPS.REPORT COMMENTS
