Last year more than 140,000 horses from the U.S. were slaughtered for human consumption abroad. Lawmakers are taking action to shut this industry down with legislation that will protect the horses and us. Please I am asking and urging you to co-sponsor and support H.R.1942 the Safeguard American Food Exports (SAFE) Act. This Bill will permanently ban the slaughter of horses for human consumption in the U.S. and stop the export abroad for the same purpose. The Bill will also protect us by keeping inherently problematic slaughterhouses out of our communities and toxic horse meat away from us, the consumers. Slaughter is not the solution. Thank you.REPORT COMMENTS
