American Horses are NOT FOOD!! They are routinely administered over 200 FDA banned substances not intended for animals meant for human consumption. It is really that simple. Over 80% of Americans are opposed to horse slaughter. Why then, is Our Government NOT PROTECTING it's PEOPLE????? Moreover, why is the US Government allowing TOXIC horse meat to enter the Global Food Source? ??? There is a simple solution. It's called the SAFE ACT, S 1214 / HR 1942. Horse slaughter is indeed a predatory industry. I ask our President and our U.S. Congress to be outright opposed and very, very vocal on this topic. I want the country back that I believed was the best place in the world based on its ideals. Congress may not all agree of the critical need for humane protection but at the very least as people elected to serve the country - they need to exercise balance and available science and in a perfect world they will not allow the horses to be slaughtered and hurt and suffering physically and emotionally. What are we saying to our own people and to the world if we Americans do not protect our iconic wild horses, burros, buffalo?REPORT COMMENTS

The BLM needs to stop the inhumane/bloody horse/burro roundups immediately! As Americans, we do not approve of our government using our tax dollars on horse/burro roundups, slaughters, and test sterilizations! Our country is better than this! Problem solve! To our elected officials...how you witnessed any of these processes? Watched the slaughtering or sterilization of horses/burros, witnessed roundups, rode in semis for hours with theses animals to see the treatment (without food, water, etc. before either being killed or shipped over seas? Have you witnessed the loading of horses and burros on ships going over seas????? Have you personally seen or investigated any of these before you castes your vote????? I have! I'm appalled that we have any elected politicians agreeing to this type of treatment to animals. I hope that it remains public to all of us taxpayers of the names of the politicians stating and voting that this OK in America so we can elect someone who has investigated the methods of the BLM. I am a veteran and for the first time can say that I am embarrassed that this has been allowed to happen in United States of America.
