Political science is essential for our society because not only does it study society in the context of society, but it also educates people about our government. An informed society leads to a civil society, and cutting research funding for political science only hinders us from learning more about Americans and other people all over the world. Research in the realm of political science is essential to the government, without it who would our congressmen rely on to get their information from? If we want to strengthen America, we have to study America and the rest of the world. Cutting this does NOTHING to decrease our budget or our debt. There are smarter ways to save, and perhaps with more research you guys can figure them out. Please vote no. Thank you. -

To allow this amendment would give into to the basest instincts in this intolerable political climate, and continue the decline in American know-how and global competitiveness.REPORT COMMENTS

Please oppose this attempt by Senators Coburn and McCain to act upon their social science ignorance. Political Science research is vital to understanding our democracy -- an irony apparently lost on some members of the senate.REPORT COMMENTS
