There is a very good economic reason for support NSF funding for political science. It helps makes US scholarship in this area best in the world, and results in thousands of non-US students to come to the US to study. These students put money in the US economy, fund universities, and help to subsidize state students paying lower tuition rates. They are also one of the best mechanisms of "soft power" that US foreign policy has, distributing US ideas to students who will teach them when they return home. Cutting this funding is beyond shortsighted.Mar 15th, 2013Someone from Myrtle Beach, SC writes:
Social science is still a science. Why are you anti-science?REPORT COMMENTS

I urge Congress and the President to continue NSF funding for relevant political science research in HR 933. Pork legislation ought go, but academic research is a must.REPORT COMMENTS
