Please make more people of the seriousness of PTSD and its side effects on families. Some do not know their loved one has it until they commit suicide or harm others. We need more counselors and coaching for our men and women who return from over seas .....they should receive care for three years to see if anything appears in their lives. My husband has suffered since 1974 and was even put out of the USAF because of it and he blew up at his commander. After 16 years of being a top notch soldier, don't you think after an accident someone should have noticed he didn't act the same???? It has almost ruined his life and now they fight against him to give him Disability pay. Be there for them....they were there for you!REPORT COMMENTS

There are scores of people from all walks of life across America that are not aware to the harmful effects of PTSD, to families, and friends. Also, just as many that have no idea what PTSD even is: POST-TRAUMATIC STRESS DISORDER. It is time to bring attention to the need for a "National PTSD Awareness" day, week or month.REPORT COMMENTS

While I'm also a disabled veteran, its not enough to really slow me down. However, we have thousands of Marines, Sailors, Soldiers & Air Force personnel on active duty today and many more suffering from PTSD. Its real so let's have at least a National PTSD Awareness Day!REPORT COMMENTS

I suffer from PTSD due to trauma in my childhood and early adult years. I'm now in my 40's and still suffer from it. We need to address this in our Country especially for our military! It's bad enough that I'm debilitated from it, there is NO reason our Vets should be. Give them services to help them. You can throw me to the curb (which is what SSD just did), not fair to throw those that do your bidding to the curb!REPORT COMMENTS
