My son was KIA and my daughter to took her own life due to PTSD... NOBODY really cares about the family left behind and we suffer tremendously.. Its NOT just soliders who take their lives, brothers and sisters mothers fathers ,,, its a heartbreaking situation,, AND I AM IN A LIVING HELL . WHO CARES???? NOBODY... I LOST A SON FOR YOU FREEDOM... AND NOW I LOST A DAUGHTER..FOR YOUR FREEDOM.. SHE IS A CASUALTY OF THIS WAR AS FAR AS I AM CONCERNED..REPORT COMMENTS

I have suffered from PTSD for 20 plus years. I had to give up my career in Law Enforcement, eventually my home and most of my friends were gone. I rarely leave my home because being out in public causes so much physical pain by trying to act like nothing is wrong takes all my strength; when I get home and I am finally alone I just sit and cry. Not a day goes by where I don't cry even have panic attacks. The flash backs and nightmares are the worst. I use to be a strong person, physically fit and hard working. PTSD changed all that; I can't do 90% of what I use to do. I have pretty much given up on everything. I have a great doctor and that is probably why I keep going on. I don't believe in suicide, my son my grandson parents brother and many friends had know choice when they left this earth and I'm sorry but taking ones life is a slap in the face to all those that left before us. At least the pain lets me know I am alive and maybe someday I will beat this thing.REPORT COMMENTS

PTSD is a very serious issue that needs to be directly addressed...I know friends and family personally,that have been diagnosed with it.There is no known cure but if we ALL band together,we can help others cope and survive......writing in journals is an outlet to staying sane,getting it out is a positive first step to releasing stress...even bi-polar people that I know have PTSD.I can empathize and sympathize with them and I would be honored to help in any way I can,count me in all the way,I support this issue because having a mind with clouded,distorted thinking is like having a heart without breathing.Put yourself in their shoes for a week then you will realize and wake up to a calling......you were born to raise awareness.REPORT COMMENTS
