If you can't get behind this merely on the issue of ethics, let's do it for the taxpayers. I and the American people are sick of paying millions of dollars to basically kill puppies and kittens, all because of the irresponsibility of other citizens, and the lack of regulation from government. Force people to spay and neuter their animals so that we can use those saved tax dollars to do something good for the world, instead of putting animals to death. Thank you.

Sometimes I am completely ashamed of our human race. If it wasn't for the good people, I don't believe I could stand being here anymore. It is heartless and cruel to give your pet/family member to an animal shelter. In all cases, there is a better way. If we create a mandatory spay/neuter law we can reduce the number of animals in shelters over time and prevent a great deal of animal cruelty. I also believe a mandatory pet tax similar to the one used in Germany is a fantastic idea. People who actually love animals will have pets, and everyone else will think it's not worth the cost. Please consider this. Euthanizing animals is so archaic. It is 2016, we are better than that.

Because every dog in a household is a gift and people should have to adopt a dog just as they would a child from a licensed breeder. Every owner that does not comply with spaying and neutering their dog face a $1000 fine every 3 months until done. Every dog abuser be faced with a mandatory 10 year prison sentence. Anyone breeding unlicensed face a $5000 fine. WE NEED STIFF LAWS TO PROTECT THESE INNOCENT ANIMALS!!!!

Animals deserve good loving forever homes. There are so many that are chained there whole lives, or beaten & starved to death. Let us not forget all the precious animals that are dumped & left to die. It has to stop.

I'm signing this petition for many reasons. My husband, BuDD, and I couldn't have children, so we have been dedicating our life to taking in strays and rescuing unwanted animals since we met in 1998 and at certain times have had up to 16 pets at one time, both dogs and cats. We currently have 12 and are fostering one for a family who moved into a house where their Landlord won't allow them to have their dog. These are our children, which we call our FURbabies, and they're spoiled rotten and we have doggy doors and a fenced in yard, so it's really their house and they just let us live here. We are responsible pet owners and spay and neuter each one just in case they were to ever get out because there are way too many FURbabies looking for their FURever homes. If we could afford it, we would take them all every animal in. I have many friends who also do the same thing as us and some even have more. I also joined PawProjectNC.com Rescue Relief Group on January 1, 2016 when I went and helped them rescue 5 chihuahuas and a Pit Bull who were in a METH fire on 12/28/2015 iand they burned their trailer down! They were breeding chihuahuas and pit bulls for drug money and 2 of the pit bulls died in the fire and all of the others they left on the property in a cage without proper shelter, water and food! One chihuahua was badly burned in the fire and had 3rd degree burns all over her body and they didn't take her to the Vet! We got them to surrender her to me so we could get her to a Vet to get her the care she needed. She was on antibiotics and pain meds for 2 weeks! We also got them to surrender two more of her chihuahua siblings who were in really bad condition with bad yeast/skin infections, and one was heart worm positive! We're hoping and praying they'll still surrender the other 2 chihuahuas and pit bull to us because they need our help! We had an adoption event a couple of weeks ago and we were able to get the 2 chihuahuas adopted out together and my husband and I decided to keep the other chihuahua that was badly burned because we were originally fostering her, but after 2 months of getting her better and fully vetted, we couldn't put her through anymore trauma and abandon her! I've been taking care of her 24/7 and have to hand feed her, even her canned wet food. The guy is now in jail as of a few weeks ago! In North Carolina alone there are 100 counties. In one of these counties the local animal shelter euthanizes around 20,000 dogs alone, each year. This is not including cats.Something must be done about this. We are petitioning that all counties in North Carolina be required by law, to have all pet's spayed or neutered by 5 months of age. This would cut down on the amount of animals entering the shelters, which could lead to all of our shelters becoming No Kill Shelters. It's time something be done. We the people are asking that this law be passed. There are (30) States who already have Spay/Neuter Laws: Alabama, Arizona, Arkansas, California, C

Pass a law- All Pets in North Carolina must be spayed or neutered . I'm signing this position for many reasons. One chihuahua was badly burned in the fire and had 3rd degree burns all over her body and they didn't take her to the Vet! Her name s NuBs because she was born without her right leg. We got them to surrender her to me so we could get her to a Vet to get her the care she needed. She was on antibiotics and pain meds for 2 weeks! We also got them to surrender two more chihuahuas, Precious and Cindy, who were in really bad condition with bad yeast/skin infections, and one was heart worm positive! We're hoping and praying they'll still surrender the other 2 chihuahuas and pit bull to us because they need our help! We had an adoption event a couple of weeks ago and we were able to get the 2 chihuahuas adopted out together and my husband and I decided to keep NuBs because she's been in hiding at our house because "they wanted their little baby back!" So, her adoption is a private one so hopefully they'll never find out where she is and the guy is now in jail as of 3 weeks ago! In North Carolina alone there are 100 counties. So many animals are being put down because we do not have laws helping animals. Enough is enough.

We cannot "rescue" our way out of the pet over--population problem in this country. Mandatory spay/neuter laws will be the only solution to stop the killing of thousands of highly adoptable animals every single day. It's a pure disgrace.

Let's stop the killing, and strictly regulate the breeders to abolish puppy mills as well. Every dog a breeder has must be fully vetted, well cared for and sheltered. Limit the number of dogs per license restrictions as well as the number of litters allowed per female dog-that should go under the topic of keeping the breeding dogs healthy.
