With the number of animals in shelters and the euthanization rate, this would be such a benefit for shelters, owners, and most of all, animalsREPORT COMMENTS

Totally logical, just takes dedicated people who care enough for our dogs and cats, and other domestic animals, to get them fixed so we don't have to keep killing the ones who aren't in homes any longer. It's the caring thing to do.REPORT COMMENTS

There's no reason we shouldn't be spaying and neutering our pets. As of right now every pet owner would have to adopt 15 dogs every year to prevent unnecessary euthanasia. So spay and neuter or go pick out your first 15!REPORT COMMENTS

Millions of unwanted cats and dogs get euthanise in the US every year. These poor souls die horrible deaths ,often following a terrible life of neglect and abuse . This must stop! Please make spay and neuter mandatory in all states. It would also help to shut down all Puppy Mills and Backyard Breeders and make breeding at such facilities of animal cruelty ,a criminal offence. Yours sincerely Daniela HolmesREPORT COMMENTS

All animals should be spayed and neutered, obviously the people that breed would be set in a different category, I believe those that breed animals should only be able to breed when they are chosen out of lottery, like they would do with hunting, no one should be able to just breed animals continually for money. If all animals could be spayed and neutered for free, with tax payer money...this would help the homeless pets, the shelters, the needless euthanizing of innocent animals. Thank you!REPORT COMMENTS

Please, if not passing a spay/neuter law in every state, encourage states to give incentives for spaying and neutering.. People could be given vouchers for gas, etc. when they have this done. There should be some sort of incentive. Require veterinarians to give a few weekends a year for low cost or free spaying/neutering. Make it something that people want to do. They won't do it just because it's a law. Something like the gun buy backs that cities do. We would save millions on money that would not have to go to animal shelters/workers.REPORT COMMENTS

There are so many of us who volunteer to socialize and build trust in abused animals who have been treated like trash. We re-home two and eight more come in. To the person who thinks it is un-American to spay and neuter - how many days have you volunteered in a kill-shelter watching starved and otherwise abused animals be euthanized? After you experience this, come back and write about how it's wrong to slow the flow of unwanted pets. Pass mandatory spay neuter laws now!REPORT COMMENTS

How would you feel if you had no choice but to get a vasectomy or your tubes tied. Not fair. So don't inflict it on our pets. It's shameful and unamerican point blank period. Be good owners and no one will have to endure these situations.REPORT COMMENTS

please pass mandatory spay and neuter law. It sickens me to see all the homeless, starving and abused animals in this country. Some of which have homes. Some owners should not be allowed to have animals due to their lack of loving care. I see animals being abandoned due to the "owners" financial circumstances. If this law were passed, it would not 100 percent resolve the entire issue BUT, I do feel it would put a huge dent in it and become better over time.REPORT COMMENTS

As a nation, it's shameful that our animal protection laws are so impotent. Every 13 seconds another healthy adoptable companion animal is euthanized and I believe that should be considered a criminal act. A companion animal only lives to please their 'owner' and many times that love is not reciprocated. If surrendered/dumped at an animal shelter, the animal pays the ultimate price (their life) if they're not adopted within a certain timeframe. We must do better at protecting them and put in place Mandatory Spay/Neuter Laws in every state. We must shut down Back Yard Breeders & Puppy Mills and implement mandatory licenses for those who feel compelled to breed animals (as though we don't have enough already). We must be their voice and demand change NOW!REPORT COMMENTS
