I contracted HSV-1 by drinking out of someones dixie cup by accident. I assumed it was mine. Then my GF contracted it from me unknowingly. As we know, HSV-1 can be spread to other parts of the body very easily. Our government needs to fund this mentally and physically painful disease. I cannot even go on nice long runs or hikes without this virus putting me in pain.! Over a mixed up drinking cup.... Come on!REPORT COMMENTS

Herpes is like the worlds dirty little secret. If we pretend its not there it will go away or at least get buried under all the other problems we face. WAKE UP!!!!! Herpes isn't going anywhere, not until YOU step up and increase research funding. We try to push it to the back of our minds because after all, what doesn't kill us makes us stronger, but thats a lie because from the moment you test positive your whole life depends on whether or not you can deal with your status. If you can't, you lose productivity and work suffers, you become depressed and your friends and family suffer. Why risk losing 50 million plus productive citizens when you can increase funding now and free up over a billion dollar within the next 10 year. THEN AGAIN, MAYBE AMERICA COULD DO WITHOUT OVER 1 BILLION DOLLARS STIMULATING ITS ECOMONY....REPORT COMMENTS
