I have 2 MBA from American Universities, I had a job, was paying my taxes and lived for 5 years in the USA. Did not get my visa because of this stupid lottery, lost my job, and my family of course lives in NY. Now I have to go back to school to keep my F1 status and stay in the US, and find a new job to pay for my bills. This is outrageous.

Its ridiculous to think that your job depends on a computer generated selection. If the company wants and needs you in a certain possition, why does it matter what nationality you are from? Our world is becoming a melting pot.Everything is international. Comanies need different cultures, world views, point of views, and experiences if they want to thrive in whichever business they are in.

Someones career shudnt be dependent upon a lottery. There can be another round of test like GRE,etc for getting h1 approval. H1 petition shud be unlimited and from them 65k candidates shud be selected basing upon the merit.

For someone in the medical profession, looking to receive further training the US, there is a match process in which the result does not come out until June 2013 for start in July 2014. This makes it impossible for skilled, educated people to obtain H1B visa when the cap has been reached two month prior to the result date. Something needs to be changed!

Please increase cap for H1 B, so that people who were unlucky with lottery can get visa and will be good for US economy.

It is highly unfair that talented individuals who could contribute greatly to the US economy, and who already have job offers be denied based on a lottery

Adding more talent to the pool of young professionals helps all businesses perform to a greater level. Our experience has been in most cases, one of excellence when mentoring and hiring foreign students, interns and employees.

H1B visa lottery system makes an individual career as luck oriented and not work/ talent oriented.

I am German/ Italian with a 4 years Bachelor's Degree from the Netherlands, studied 1 semester in the US with a 4.0 GPA. Furthermore, I have several years of industry related work experience in countries like Germany, Austria and the US, speaking 5 languages of which German, Italian, English and Spanish are fluent. I used to live in the US on a student and Trainee Visa in 2006 - 2008 and came back 17 months ago and established a life in this country, paying taxes. There are so many people illegally in this country and I always did everything by the book and what did I get? Rejected by the lottery after finding a company who values my skills and were excited to have me helping to elevate their business. Unfortunately, none of my dual citizenship countries have some kind of treaty visa with the US in order to help. Therefore, the increase of this years Visa Cap would mean the world to me. People have no idea how hard the US government makes it even for high skilled workers to get into this country. The fact of having a company who wants to sponsor you should be the highest hurdle to surpass.

A highly skilled, productive, loyal and diligent employee not getting the H1B visa doesn't just affect the individual employee, but it really does affect other colleagues, the whole team and company.
