I have been a DOD civilian LEO for 10 years and I am a municipal LEO for a local P.D. There is no difference in what I do for the DOD and what I do in my municipal job. As a Police Officer for the Department of the Army I feel amending the definition of a law enforcement officer under subchapter III of chapter 83 and chapter 84 of title 5, United States Code is long overdue! We put our lives at risk on a daily basis like any other 0083 law enforcement officer and should have the same standards of recognition. Please pass this HR.REPORT COMMENTS

So if I get killed in the line of duty, does my name get put on the LEO memorial wall? I dont understand why we arent considered LEO's. Usually we dont find out until we are already working that we are not. Lets short Pakistan, Afghanistan and every other Stan some money next month and do right by the men and women who protect our military bases and our essential government facilities and functions!!!REPORT COMMENTS

Congress should sign this law and sign it NOW. We live in a nation where being a Police Officer has changed from being a noble profession to one of scorn and disdain. Working as a Law Enforcement officer for the Government and not being fully regonized as a LEO should not be acceptable. The public expects the same service from all LEO's, so the same benefits should apply.REPORT COMMENTS

I'm not sure why what would make someone think I'm not a LEO. I conduct traffic stops, respond to domestic violence, larcenies, drugs, and even calls for shots fired. Please take a look at your laws and adjust them accordingly.REPORT COMMENTS
