These people used badger tactics for their "recruiting". As a mid 30s veteran with anxiety issues, I was searching for a path to take that benefit me in the future. Naturally after many calls from them and being assured they offered everything I wa searching for, I signed on. Worst decision I've ever made. A coworker taking the same classes from a local community college showed me her syllabus. My UoP syllabus was like cliff notes compared to hers and didn't even mention most of what she had to learn. Worse was that I paid more. After getting my AA degree I found just how worthless it was. Several employers recommended taking them off my resume. I was even advised to do that by our local job service office. All I ended up with was a monthly bill that was basically half of my minimum wage take home pay. Of course it ended up in default. Now they take 15% of my pay by court order. -

I went to the University of Phoenix and Devry University. Both overcharged me and now I am in serious debts. The University of Phoenix won't allow me to get my administrator's license in Texas. They didn't tell me this until I had my last class. It's been four years and I still don't have my certification. They won't give me the okay to get certification in Texas where I took classes.REPORT COMMENTS

I did find a job after graduation however I have paid on my loan for more than 9 yrs and barely any principle has decreased. My interest rate says 2.6 and 4.1 however by how much the principle has decreased this is like a credit card interest rate. I feel like I will be paying on this for the next 30 hrs and I will only be working another 14 before I retire.REPORT COMMENTS

University of Phoenix is a corrupt organization and deserves to be shut down. Because of them driving me out of my student loans and grants I ended up losing everything and now I'm going to have this huge debt over my shoulders when I did not receive it. They kicked me out of school and told me I could not even appeal it for 6 months. Your student loans go into repayment after 6 months of non-attendance or less than half time. I was going full time and 6 months before my second year was complete they put me on academic disqualification. And told me that I might be able to get back into school after it was up in 6 months they have kept all of my money for the last year-and-a-half and now I have to repay it.REPORT COMMENTS

I took less than a year's worth of classes and they took out several additional loans without informing me after the initial one, leaving me around 10K in debt for a degree I will never attain and for schooling that had me absolutely flabbergasted at what was passing for "college" level work by them. Shady practices and all around immoral acts for sure.REPORT COMMENTS

I took 2 classes which were each a few weeks long with UoP.. they were both introductory courses. The first one I passed, the second one I didn't pass. I ran in to some personal issues which affected how much time I devoted to my schooling. Since I had not logged on in a while they basically un-enrolled me from my courses (understandable).. Now after really only taking 1 full class, I am left with 5k in student loan debt. This is AFTER I qualified for the max pell grant. I truly regret ever getting involved with UoP.. They didn't explain 1 thing to me about the cost of my schooling. And I had a different "financial counselor" every other week. It was impossible to get answers out of them. They never called me back to talk about what I needed to talk about, but they sure do harass me about coming back to enroll. Yeah Right!REPORT COMMENTS

I owe $40,000 and NOT ONE job that I have applied with my "degree" has called. I have been able to get hired once since I graduated and it was at the front desk at a private school making $10 per hour for 14 hours a week total. UOP is a joke and I am now accruing interest on this debt and have gained NOTHING from this "degree". Wasted time, wasted money.REPORT COMMENTS

I got an associated degree from Univ. of Phoenix. When the degree program was completed, I had $32K in student loans. At the very beginning, I was not too knowledgeable about the loan process, I later found out that they were requesting the maximum amount. I specifically told them to only request the amount the pell grant did not cover. They requested well over they amount that I needed. They told me that after the pell grant funds were applied, my student loan amount should be approximately $1400.00 a year. I cannot afford to make these payments.REPORT COMMENTS

I was enrolled for two semesters in 2011 when I realized that since I was enrolled "part-time" [because I work full time] I was "automatically" working toward an associates degree. When I asked about working toward a bachelor's program, I was told "no" because it was more expensive, I would have to enroll full time and I would need to attend all classes in person. [Which would not have worked with my work schedule.] The classes I did take were an utter joke, as were the "teachers". Not to mention, there were students in my class who hadn't even completed high-school. In one of my classes there was a project which consisted of watching "interactive" video where you would click images on the screen pertaining to the story such as- a cell phone to "answer a call", a computer monitor to "read an e-mail", etc. That was the entire purposes of that project! Now, I have $8K LEFT in federal loans for credits that cannot be transferred ANYWHERE!! I think the entire school is a complete SCAM and UOP should repay the Federal Government what they claim I OWE!!! [I never saw a dime of that money UOP! You had the check go directly to YOU!]REPORT COMMENTS

I graduated in June of 2014 with a bachelors in Healthcare Administration. It's now October of 2016 and I cannot even get an entry level position! I have spent so much time trying to find a job so I can pay back my $67,000 student loans. I was doing something to better myself and my family, I thought this would benefit us, instead I've hurt us. I cannot find a job, I cannot pay back my loans, they continue to grow. My loans started at $55,000 now I'm at $67,000. Something really should be done about this school. I was told I could have my loans paid off by the time I graduated, just by applying the checks they sent me to my loans, yeah right!REPORT COMMENTS

UOP claimed with the MSA degree that I would be eligible to sit for the CPA exam, but that was not true. I was out of work almost two years after I graduated. Many of the ads places specifically said "No Devry or University of Phoenix Degrees". Many employers I interviewed with told me that my school was not credible and they would never hire anyone from my school. I have over $125,000 ins student loan debt and have 3 jobs so I can try and make my payments.REPORT COMMENTS

This school and its deplorable business practices took advantage of myself and my mother. They lied to us and said pelo grants would cover all our tuition costs. They had us fill out an application stating that we would need to get denied loans in order for them to get us the grants.
