"As for the people who really can't survive without opiates, like too many things in life we are guilty until proven innocent, and the underlying main motivator is money. Drug companies and insurance companies are in control of our government. The cost of medicines is going to cause the weak and poor to be purged. And the middle class is being destroyed as well. We don't have government for the people by the people, we have government for the people with the most money. -

It is high time for the DEA to leave doctors alone, Patients with chronic back pain should be able to obtain the necessary medicines without the doctors resorting to excuses and lies ffor refusing to prescribe any opioid base medicine.REPORT COMMENTS

Most of the doctors we have visited in the last five years are extremely afraid of the DEA, to the point of resorting to lying to us (patients). We are treated as drug addicts and will not prescribe any pain killers because of their fear of the DEA.REPORT COMMENTS

I have several collapsed herniated bulging discs up and down my spine. I went to many doctors to try and figure out why i was in so much pain for a few years and they all would tell me that i was too young to be having this much pain, i am in my 40's. I've gotten kicked out labeled as a drug seeker. One Dr even wrote me out a script for 100 massages, telling me that's the best drug that i needed for many age. I wasn't even asking for drugs. All i wanted to know was why i was in so much pain. Finally, God put the right physician in my life and did the MRI and XRAY and saw i was not lying. Put me on the right opiate treatment and i was able to function with my life until lately with the DEA and FDA plans starting to automatically kill off the sick and weak through these NAZI/COMMUNIST methods. My old Doc retired, and my new Doc is being pressured by the DEA/FDA to refer me to the NAZI PAIN CLINICS. They've treated me like a criminal before and now again. Yes, there are thousands of addicts/criminals, but there are allot of more millions of law abiding tax paying citizens that are being turned into criminals by the corrupt governments, fed, state, and local. Anyways God don't like cowards who prey on the weak. God and the Universe will punish you when you least expect it. I am starting to consider suicide as an option out of this painful life. I know there's still good people in the Medicine Dept, Government, Armed Forces, Police, please help us, the good people. I know there's still good and love left in this world, Lord God YAHWEH/IEHOVAH/JEHOVAH help us all, in the name of YAHESHUAH/JESUS/ISUS our Lord, Redeemer and Savior, AMIN!!!****REPORT COMMENTS

As someone that lives with CHRONIC DAILY PAIN from Ehlers Danlos Syndrome this has to stop. Pain medication helps me function without it I may as well stay in bed which is not something I wish to do. Those suffering from rare diseases ARE NOT ADDICTS, we do what we have to do to function daily. Stop attacking the physicians that help us, stop attacking us.REPORT COMMENTS

The new CDC opioid prescribing "guidelines" specifically call for pain management Drs to refrain from testing for marijuana. Yet they still do. Even in states where medical marijuana is legal. Test positive for marijuana and they give you one option. One. You can check into an addiction clinic, go on Suboxone with the plan of then tapering off that. You also will have go to meetings three times a week. I can barely drive my car. I will never agree with this as I am a pain patient NOT an addict. The difference is huge. I need answers for the latest injury to my back. I have three fused discs and five new herniated discs, each pressing on nerves. One disc also presses on my spinal cord. I have at least six well documented medical diagnosis for my back. Medical marijuana helps with intractable pain. That is a fact. I've NEVER sold, bought, borrowed, shared or stolen opioids. Nor have I ever felt anything close to euphoria. Hysterically paranoid pain Drs are legally getting away with dismissing patients they've treated for many many years by offering us the "choice" of going to an addiction clinic while saying they'll still "treat" us with $2,000 injections but no opioids. I bet they would! These injections make so much money for the dr but do very little for me. How does this in any way help a pain patient? I did the injections on and off for 27 years, along with all the other stuff. Opioids are the ONLY thing that actually afford me some quality of life. Yesterday was my family's annual July 4th party. Guess who got to sit at home alone? We have two parties a year where everyone is together, even my seven grandchildren. This cannot continue. Addicts WILL get their drugs no matter what laws, guidelines or restrictions are issued. The CDC just made black market pain meds even more lucrative. These drugs are now being made for street sale illegally with fentinal in them!!! If the objective was to rid the nation of the weakest of us good job!! Shouldn't take long at all. Untreated pain is not only horrible it causes many issues to arise. High blood pressure and depression are a couple. The very worst is not being able to do basic things like light housework. Grocery shopping without help is not possible. There needs to be a class action suit. We as pain patients need a spokesperson who can draw attention to our plight. This has to stop!REPORT COMMENTS

I was waiting for my second hip surgery to deal with a beign cancer issue that would grow tumors in the hil joint when our physician who prescribed me trammadol was fired for patient care issues. No physician would take me on until after the surgery and after I was recovered. Cancer came back and while Waiting for third surgery, a total hip which also involved killing the cells making the tumor, my doctors would not prescribe anything. I who had never drank before discovered alcohol worked okay but only for short periods. Is it acceptable to drink a shkt of rum at 7 am, 10am, 1 pm, 4pm, 7 pm, 10 pm, and 1 am? Apparently more acceptable than taking 1 tramadol a day.REPORT COMMENTS

Once a nurse and social worker...now a chronic pain patient. Yes, I've seen many a drug seeker in my career and yes, there is a problem in this country with addiction but there is also a community of people who lives their lives daily in excruciating unrelenting pain..who need relief, medication to function on a day to day basis. I am a pain patient and I am extremely fortunate that after 16 months of pain medication 24/7 I relieved a spinal cord stimulator that for the most part is effective in keeping my pain level at a point where I can function.. I am now on PRN meds that I use usually no more than once or twice a week. I am one if the fortunate ones...but not all are. To take away pain medications is no less than cruel and inhuman treatment. How can our government subject sick people to this kind of treatment because of a group if irresponsible individuals who ABUSE? You know what's causing deaths? Nicotine and I as a tax payer pay for that addiction thru my insurance premiums. Alcholol...same thing...again we pay for that addiction thru extreme insurance premiums. Neither nicotine or alcohol are beneficial to ANYBODY but yet these drugs are legally killing people on a daily basis and we are paying for it. The difference....there's BIG MONIES in these legal drugs so they will always be available regardless of the number of lives and money it costs. It's sickening...think about it...REPORT COMMENTS

My husband had a stroke that hit the pain centers of the brain. He will never be out of pain. The pain is so intense that it feels like thousands of ice picks being jabbed into the bones at one time; at the same time another pain hits that feels like razor blades being pulled through the flesh and against the bones on the entire left side of his body....it takes a combination of medications just to numb his pain.....as for myself, I have to have pain meds for my back pain from pulling over a stroke patient who has the entire left side of his body paralyzed from a stroke....Not one doctor wants to continue taking care of us because the CDC and government are interfering in our care....we are not addicted to drugs and use them when we need them....now we can not go to the doctors once a month due to the high co pays and expense....it is hard to travel 63 miles and drag a wheel chair patient in to see a doctor and sit all day longREPORT COMMENTS

I have had chronic back, hip, and knee pain since at least 2009. I had a spinal fusion in 2009 and the doctor (Dr. Bernard) left me in the hospital with NO pain meds at all. Luckily, my mom is an RN so that helped me gets pain meds after a couple of hours screaming in pain. The next morning, the charge nurse asked me why I hurt so bad because most people don't. My moms reply to him was, so does that mean the Dr. Did something wrong? Every time I ask for pain medicine I get treated like a drug addict. A Dr. In Culimbus, NC did a DNA test on me to see how and if I metabolized pain meds. Due to my chemical makeup, my body does not process morphine or dilauded at all. He also let me try the pain patch fentenyl one time. It did wonders. But of course, due to our government I can't get it for my chronic osteoarthritis and AVN but my neighbors across the street can grow, sell, and smoke pot which is illegal in NC and nobody does or says a thing about it. One of them even smokes it in front of his 4 year old daughter. Tell me how it is not as dangerous for the government to sell me alcohol so I can get drunk and drive a car to possibly kill another driver but they can dictate what pain meds I take? Also, about the pot? If I did choose to illegally smoke it, I have higher risks of strokes and lung cancer. I would really appreciate my government giving me the free choice that I should have living in my so called free countryREPORT COMMENTS

Federal and local Kentucky laws have been changing to better regulate pain control methods with new laws. Let me tell you the result of these changes... My 90 year old grandma had surgery on her eye 3 weeks ago to remove a tumor that was found to be malignant. The doctors dug into her eye muscle to remove as much as they could, but left some. She was sent home with the instructions to take over the counter tylenol for pain and use a warm wet wash cloth. No pain medication was prescribed. She can barely walk from pain and can't get a single doctor in the state to treat her pain seriously. My aunt whom has been on Fioreset for migraine headaches for years now was taken off of her medication. She has had numerous sergeries to remove sinus issues and takes IGG IV treatments weekly to try to help with the immune and sinus issues causing the headaches. But now she is no longer able to get the medication that has worked for her headaches that she has been on for years (she is 72 yrs old). The doctors want her to go to pain management and treat her like she is a drug addict. I have been on Tylenol 3 for years for confirmed Fibromyalgia and arthritis in my back with no insurance. I get insurance through Obama Care and I suddenly find out my doctor of 6 years doesnt accept that insurance. Matter of fact few doctors do. I show them my medical history.. 3 severel double ankle sprains in the past year, a broke toe, and severe arthritis in my back and fibromyalgia. I show them the medications I have been on and they want to send me to pain management. The only controlled pain medication I take is Tylenol 3?!! They refer me to a Rheumotologist.. he refused to even see me at all. He said "Go to pain management". I call every single Rheumotologist within 120 miles of me.. they all either refuse to treat arthritis now and send patients to pain management or they dont take my insurance. And whats worse.. is my mom died of Multiple Miloma.. my daughter has Juvenile Dermatomyositis.. and every female in my family has rare auto immune disorders. I will never know if there is something else seriously wrong with me because doctors are flat out refusing to see me to even run tests to find out whats going on. Oh and did I mention none of our local Rheumotologists will see my daughter either to treat her condition? She is in remission and doesn't take any pain medication but needs a doctor to manage her condition every 3 months to run blood tests to make sure she doesnt have a relapse. But thanks to the fear your laws have put into doctors minds.. they ASSUME she wants pain medicine and refuse to even see her either. What you have successfully done is put fear into every doctor and caused them to get lazy and not actually treat patients. They dont want to fill out the stacks of documentation your new laws require so instead they just cherry pick what they will and wont treat now. Thank you for making our lives so much more difficult and painful. IREPORT COMMENTS

Finally saw a new ortho who will not prescribe medications till after an MRI and 2nd visit. That is two weeks of massive pain. Our physicians have drank the administration's kool aid.
