It sure is a shame that I feel I can't even use my name here because I don't trust our current Government. The DEA is a Government Agency. I have been a pain patient for 15 years. The older I get (I'm 54 now), the worst my condition is getting. My Doctor has told me it would get worse. So I have to think about that, But NOW...I have to Worry about this! I have Never abused my medicine. I have Never sold my medicine (why would I do that...because I Need It)! The Real pain patients were never told what was coming with this DEA/Obama crap. Others, that have not been on pain medication for years were not even given a chance to ween off the med. I was never told this was coming, and was never asked if I even wanted to try to ween off. It was just Overnight that no pharmacy would fill these prescriptions. I have went to 8 to 12 different pharmacies in one day (trying with all my might to walk all the way to the back of the store to the pharmacy) and no one will fill what has been prescribed to me? Then after walking and driving around so much, I am Laid Up for 4 to 5 days in extreme pain because I aggrevated everything. The pharmacies are not even able to order what medications they need. They told me that now they just get whatever they get.????? So many decent people are getting sick with withdrawal, having seizures, some dying of the seizures, or they are going to the street drugs. THIS ADMINISTRATION NEEDS TO BE HELD ACCOUTABLE...AND NOW. HOW IS THIS LEGAL? IT IS INHUMANE. Who do they think they are. We didn't do anything wrong. I keep my meds. hidden and locked up at all times. It is basically the death panel we were told about with ObamaCare. If you really think about it...It all started when ObamaCare really kicked in. I heard that the Administration is Stock-Piling all pain meds!!!??? We Need To Sue This Administration for Pain and Suffering...LITERALLY! I am so Mad and so Scared...and so are the Doctors!REPORT COMMENTS

Thie "war on pain patients" and their doctors must stop. The DEA and it's war on drugs has spent trillions of dollars over the years, yet the drug cartels have become billionaires. The war has been lost, so to justify it's existence and to continue it's tax dollar funding, the Dea now targets doctors/patients making us feel like we are subhuman and should just go "die" somewhere. The heroin explosion over the last few years is a direct result of the attacks on doctors/patients and you will see it continue to skyrocket. Most of them were former pain patients just trying to make it through their days, then enter the DEA. Their physician gets targeted and stops treating patients,, the patients cannot find another doctor and the pain becomes unbearable. So, you are left with 2 options: a: commit suicide and end the pain. b: turn to illicit drugs (heroin or marijuana) What else can we do? What kind of country have we become,, than we cannot even treat our sick and elderly. God will judge a nation according to how it treats its children, it's elderly and its sick/ infirmed. It's time to stop this attack, please!REPORT COMMENTS

I have suffered from chronic pain for 7+ years. The past year I have tried to change doctors because my current doctor (of 7 yrs) does not take my ins. I have run into multiple problems w/ being "believed" I am treated like a liar, some kind of drug seeker and if I do receive a script it is for 3 days or 10 days, then I have to start all over again and always receive the same attitude. They think I am a liar/criminal. I am 61 yrs. old, have never, ever abused meds. I get it that the ones that do need to be stopped but all of us that have been diagnosed properly and suffer every day are being treated horribly and not receiving the meds we need to even function. Why is it those of us who really need pain managment have to suffer because of those who abuse pain medication? I will submit to a drug test for every appointment, sign a pain managment contract and do a pill count. I have absolutely no problem with that. The Drug Enforcement Agents need to live with constant burning shooting pains in their legs for a while and continous back pain. See how that feels.REPORT COMMENTS

It's a dirty shame that so many Americans in LEGITIMATE CHRONIC PAIN can be so undertreated, maligned, labeled, and unable to cope with such severe pain that many just give up and take their own lives, or die of stroke or heart attack. They don't have these cruel attitudes in European Countries about pain control. How can a bureaucratic agency, such as the DEA, gain so much power that they are able to cruelly force people into unrelenting pain? One thing that too many hard-boiled doctors, WHO DON'T HAVE TO DEAL WITH PAIN THEMSELVES, have in common with the real drug abusers, is that neither group recognizes that anyone could ever be in chronic pain. They can't feel it so why should they care? A drug addict will steal your medication or get it taken some other way (like people who work in medical clinics, who poison the relationship between legitimate patient and doctor) so they can steal the prescriptions. Don't believe that? Look it up on the net. You will be floored to find out just how many of these "insiders" are able to get rid of legitimate patients and write forged prescriptions for themselves, but keep the number of prescriptions low enough to keep the doctor off the DEA radar. That's WHY they will sabotage a legitimate pain patient. No Bureaucratic Agency should be able to inflict so much harm on Americans who legitimately suffer in pain. People complain all the time about government spending. This is one agency which needs to be either abolished or cut back severely. They have done enormous damage to the American people overall, and have been well paid to do it. SHAME ON THEM AND SHAME ON THE DOCTORS AND THE AMA WHO DON'T STAND UP TO THEM! THE AMA IS THE MOST POWERFUL POLITICAL GROUP IN THIS COUNTRY, NEXT TO THE U.S. CHAMBER OF COMMERCE. SURELY THE AMA HAS THE POWER TO STOP THIS DEA ABUSE AGAINST LEGITIMATE DOCTORS AND PATIENTS. WHY AREN'T THEY DOING IT? Maybe its long overdue for the American people to sue this agency for all the harm it's done to people over the years.REPORT COMMENTS

The doctors need to stop treating patients like criminals and drug testing them all the time. My partner has debilitating back pain and finally found relief about 4 years ago with time release morphine. He also had begun using cannabis after losing 40 lbs, partly from morphine side effects, to help stimulate his appetite which is doctor knew about. Two months ago his regular pain doc was away and the partner sprung a drug test that showed thc and he refused to write. Just cut him off. Now he has to spend most of his time sitting and reclining to try and manage the pain, along with TENS, meditation and massive amounts of ibuprofen. Since he is also on Coumadin I worry about him bleeding. He is 62 and does not deserve to be tortured.REPORT COMMENTS

I am a 38 year old legally disabled female with a Chronic Neurological illness who suffers from daily chronic headaches that are absolutely intolerable. I am not a drug addict just because I need opioids for my pain , but for almost 16 years straight , ever since being diagnosed with a rare Neurological Condition called Arnold- Chiari Malformation of The Brain. I was declared as being legally disabled in 2003 due to complications from brain surgery that I had on Monday October 4, 1999 at age 23. My complaint is that for almost 6 years straight now, I have been suffering from a lengthy far worse daily non stop far more severe and excruciating pain with this headache and due to the intolerable pain of this daily non stop headache that I have been suffering with going on 6 years straight now. However, I have not had or gotten an ounce of relief yet. I have been to numerous ERs, attempted to find an appropriate Adult Internist and have seen several of those , and 2 pain management doctors, but the one thing I need they all flat out refuse to do , which is the only thing that van and will help me get my pain under control and get relief. That is nobody, meaning doctors I've seen all of the indicated places above absolutely will not admit me into a hospital for inpatient pain control on an IV by treating my pain aggressively with the strong Mg and Microgram dosage injections into my IV aggressively, like every 2-3 hours or so to find the proper narcotics, at the proper dosages, the right strengths and proper medicinal schedule regimes, , I also need to be admitted as well for them to run tests and find out what is causing this headache and to find out what and why I am and have been so sick along with this headache and aside from it as well. I have only had 1 Pain Management Doctor who has ever helped me, but I was only under his are for pain management for 3 glorious years from spring of 2003- Winter of 2006 when he wrongfully lost his license to practice medicine under false pretenses based on total and complete lies and false accusations. His name is Dr. Nelson H. Hendler of Mensana Clinic , which is located in Stevenson, Maryland. I desperately need and want to have and get Dr. Hendler back as my pain management doctor again because ever since losing him as my pain management doctor who was the only one whoever helped me manage my pain successfully and with flying colors, but ever since I was forced to part company with him, I have not gotten or received proper, decentor appropriate medical care or attention that Ihave needed and I especially need now. Dr. Hendler is innocent of all of those terribly untrue charges ,accusations, and defamation of character that he has sickly suffered and has been put through. He is the only pain management doctor and doctor for that matter who was and is extremely competent and knows what he is doing medically. He is the bREPORT COMMENTS

Exactly, Do No Harm! The DEA, MDs and Pharmacists need to get their heat of of the little box and look around. Ask people what they think, especially the ones who are forced to by street drugs or stand on a bridge ready for suscide, ready to do anything to get some relief from pain. Before this change, there were people on the streets selling drugs, those jumping off bridges, some due to pain, but i would wager it wasn't totally becaue of painl I would rather live a life being pain free, its better than living no life at all, where you cant hardly maintain life itself! Do not cause more harm than good! where has the empathy gone to, why don't the doctors stand up with us together!REPORT COMMENTS

I think that some lawyers should take up a class action suit for those of us that are experiencing severe, unrelenting pain. I am classified disabled by Social Security and also receive Long Term Disability from Prudential insurance. I am in constant pain and when I was asked to sign one of those narcotic prescription contracts I was highly annoyed. I do not see anyone else having to sign contracts for their illnesses in order to receive medicine that helps with the quality of life. I think this is discrimination to the disabled. The entire medical and pharmacy community that utilizes such contracts and also practices discrimination to those with pain in an unwillingness to prescribe pain medication ought to be sued. The disabled are not to be discriminated against. I can't walk, am in a wheelchair, have severe chronic pain and get treated as if I am some kind of freak because I want to take a medicine that helps stop the pain.REPORT COMMENTS

Why will surgeons not hesitate to perform life altering surgeries causing harm, including disability & chronic pain? Then patients suffer further humiliation by not being able to get relief from medication that is safe and affordable. Instead, they are being forced to participate in interventional medicine, invasive and expensive procedures that often again do more harm than good. No wonder patients seek illegal drugs, they are being forced. Shame on the Feds.REPORT COMMENTS

I personally am fed up with hurting every minute of my life because Doctor's are just to policed themselves that the last thing they would do is treat chronic pain patients properly and its all thanks to our newly self appointed hero's like the DEA and the FDA. We all sing praises to you while we are bent over in unbearable pain. Quit ignoring us and instruct physicians to treat the truly needy without fear from the new Health Care Police/Gastapo. If something does not happen soon we will ALL band together until someone listens and helps. I know that you all are quite content letting people suffer but I bet everyone of you causing this problem have either recently taken or is currently taking medications for some type of pain but oh, that's right. I suffer from degradation of my disks and joints, fibromyliga, sojourns syndrome, just had 1st and part of 2ed rib removed for tos, limp nodes swelling, maybe in need of peck minor release but will not know tell limp node swelling goes down. I am being told more or less by pcp to hurry up and heal even though my surgery clinic knows I will have pain for 6 months to a year and they have no issues with my pain med use in fact they told me they would have given me almost twice as much. Now after being on pain meds for 19 years and never once showing any signs of abuse my pain med dose is being cut back, and before I even fill the new lower script I get an email laying out the new laws and recommendations, and saying pretty soon we will lower it more. They never even asked how I was doing before making the first cut and I have not even told them how poorly I have been doing on the first cut, but already I am being told the second cut is coming. I know it is due to new laws, he told me. Is it not bad enough I have to pee in a cup now, that by the way I new I would pass and did. I am so sorry I am healing the way the surgery clinic said I would but still not fast enough for the law, I am sorry I may also be in need of a peck minor releace believe me I am as I am the one suffering. My doctor even said in the email he knows I am very responsible with my medications. I am sorry that there are drug addicts in the USA and I am sorry that there are some people who make money off of pain medication. Know matter how sorry I am that the issues are there though is not going to change my needs, my pain is not going to get better because of your laws, but the fear I feel surly will make my pain worce due the stress and lower doseing. This will add to my depression that I am seeking help for but by the way I can not find a doctor who will take my Medicare and Medicaid. I love my family and friends and I want to love life, however how is this going to happen for me when a bullet for breakfast is starting to look like the only pain managment I have access to do to the law and oh I would be breaking the law doing that too.REPORT COMMENTS
