I am a grandparent who is alienated. I have seen how this has an effect on an entire family. Sad to say we see no end in sight without a true intervention from God in our situation simply because of how the laws seem to side with the Alienators especially if they are female. We have seen some changes in these situations but more strict consequences should be in place. As a mother and family law attorney I assure you that parental alienation is real. It happened to me. It is a tragedy and nothing short of child abuse that is usually perpetrated by a parent with some sort of personality disorder. The harm it causes if often irreparable and will affect the alienated child for life. Legislators, Judges, attorneys and mental health professionals must be educated to know and recognize the signs early on so that steps can be taken to protect these innocent children.REPORT COMMENTS

Sociopathy is a ?personality disorder? and is characterized by a conspicuous disregard for the rights and needs of others. All it takes here in Indiana is one false protective order to cut you out of any contact with your children, put the woman in complete control, set the woman up for all kinds of free services, ruin or severely damage your person and self employed business reputation, cause you to lose work from clients you worked hard to build relationships with, and give her plenty of time to work on, manipulate, and alienate your children from you. And the best part is that no actual proof is needed to obtain a protective order! One false protective order and you go from being a loving father to being a "visitor" that now faces financial ruin as well. DO NOT GET ME WRONG! There is a very real need for protective orders! There have a whole lot of terrible males (can't call them "men") that have done a whole lot of terrible things to a whole lot of women for a long time. I understand that. I get it. But I should not have to suffer and pushed out of the lives of my children the past 28 months just because their mother was either coached, or researched how to leave the marriage and lock me out of the lives of my children. Remember, NO PROOF IS REQUIRED! I went almost seven months without knowing ANYTHING about my children! There mother also pulled some maneuver with the state attorney general so that she doesn't have to provide an address, even though the Indiana Parenting Guidelines require she do so. She has only allowed them to call me when she wants them to ask if they can skip a "visit" with me to play on one the many sports teams their mother has put them in all the sudden. I could go on and on. Many of us fathers could. I have several close friends who have went as much as FOUR YEARS without seeing or talking to their children! There has to be something done about the ease of these protective orders being rubber stamped. Sorry if I come off as a woman hater because I am soooooo not a woman hater.
