Shifting time causes accidents and injuries because people are too tired after their sleep pattern is interrupted. This pointless shifting back and forth costs actual money and pain, not just aggravation and confusion. It's been a useless practice since we discovered how to make lights work indoors, so throw it out with the buggy whips already. -

I live in Arizona, and it is very confusing how the other time zones "shift" outside of the state. I always take an annual trip to Southern California every year, and I am always in California when the time switches (in March), so I am never used to what I am supposed to do, in terms of when to set my alarm to get the same amount of sleep that I want. I think that Daylight Saving Time should be ended for the whole country, not just in Arizona, Hawaii, parts of Indiana, the U.S. Virgin Islands, Puerto Rico, American Samoa, and Guam. I am so happy that I live in Arizona, so I don't have to go through the hassle of trying to figure out what time it is. I don't see why me knowing the time, which is a simple and fundamental thing in life, requires me to research all the "rules" for this stupid, antiquated, and pointless "ritual" that you call Daylight "Saving" Time!REPORT COMMENTS

The whole DST concept is absurd, especially since sunrise/sunset already vary by roughly an hour across each time zone (e.g. the sun rises an hour earlier on the east side of the central zone when compared to the west), Why not split the difference and set time to the (e.g. 6:30 from GMT for the central zone (if I have that right)) and call it a day (no pun intended)?REPORT COMMENTS

Day light savings time was effective back in the 60s but has long out used its effectiveness. To my understanding it was for business purposes with the intent that as long as it was daylight people would shop longer . Now a days people don't care if it's day light or dark they still shop and for all intents purposes people are staying up later . I find it to be more of a problem for a lot of people and I would love to see it abolished .REPORT COMMENTS

STOP changing clocks! Keep the longer daylight in the evening. Changing clocks do not change any of my utility bills, so the adage that this practice conserves energy is a farce. We are a 24 hour society, I see clocks change and more lights come on making more money for the utility companies.REPORT COMMENTS
