Daylight Savings Time might've been useful during Industrial Revolution times to save on the consumption of coal, but it is a dinosaur now where only the utility and petroleum companies benefit. The sun doesn't rise for until "8a EDST", the lights are kept on in my home until I leave, where the sun was rising and I could turn off the lights sooner during standard time. My sleep pattern is disrupted (I have to work, tho' y'all in Congress seem to lack the comprehension of what that it w/your constant, persistent, immature discord. You ALL must be fired, and your constituents are informed about that, too!), and studies have shown that work productivity decrease and vehicular accidents increase in the days that follow this stupid, unnecessary time manipulation. There is no modern viable reason to have "DST" since the school children get on the buses in the dark, and I turn on more lights in the morning which cancels any savings that might be had in the evenings. NOt to mention how the petroleum companies are benefiting because people want to be out later, and drive! I demand that Daylight "Saving" Time be repealed, and we just enjoy the rise and set of the sun like the world has done since time began. Stop your ridiculous manipulation of time, and do some real work for us, you clowns.REPORT COMMENTS

If everyone would pay attention, by having dayligt savings time, it really speeds up time. Think about it, if during DST the sunsets at around 7:40 than that means time has sped upwards to about an hour and half to two hours during DST because during normal sunsetting the sunsets at around 5: 40 to 6.20. They say you lose an hour of sleep during DST but I say that we are really losing up to two hours. I wish they would just leave the time alone. and if not than just have DST for the summers only.REPORT COMMENTS

As a parent, I was shocked this year to see how much the Day Light Savings Time change affected my son's sleep, attitude, and general well-being. I can't help but think how school-children all over the country are affected by this useless change. Children need regular sleep and have the right to consistency. Everyone does. DLST is not reality based and is unnecessary. Please consider dropping this archaic movement.REPORT COMMENTS

This is a counterproductive system that no longer saves any energy (did it ever? If so, no longer). The only reasons I hear from people who like it are for recreational activities, and I don't think it's a wise or fair policy to have a disruptive time zone shifting system in place so that some people can think they have more play time in the evenings. I'm also tired of seeing our gas prices increase every year in the few weeks before we start DST (that makes me think this will be harder to abolish than it seems on the surface).REPORT COMMENTS

When Daylight Savings Time got extended in 2007, I was taken by surprise. I now think it lasts too long. I want to help find a positive way to shorten it so that everyone--those who like DST and those who don't--will be happy.REPORT COMMENTS
