END DAYLIGHT SAVINGS TIME

Messages Sent So Far
Please stop the messing with our schedules. It's an antiquated practice that only aggravates people. As it is Arizona, Hawaii, Puerto Rico, Guam, the Virgina Islands, and America Samoa do not participate in this practice.

Changing the clock is unnatural and completely disturbs the circadian rhythm.

Daylight Saving time is extremely outdated and all it does is inconvenience everyone. Arizona and Hawaii have already done away with it - why has this not yet become a national change?

Has anyone done the math? The use of electricity the day before Daylight savings time, and the day after? I am using more in the morning than at night!

I am writing to ask you to put an end to Daylight Saving Time and revert back to Standard Time. It has never really served the purpose it claimed to serve and it is a disruption twice a year that causes problems that wouldn't be incurred if we were on standard time. With the increase in warmer temperatures in North America over the recent years, having an extra hour of daylight at the end of the day means that people who have air conditioning in their homes (and businesses) are using more energy every day. This delivers a highly negative impact on the environment and costs consumers thousands of dollars every year - there are still too many people struggling to find work and pay their bills as it is. I don?t see how daylight savings time saves on energy. It cost a lot more to run an air conditioner an extra hour a day than it does to use a light bulb an hour longer. Those who do not have air conditioning in their homes suffer the extra hour of sweltering heat every day. I can find no benefit in changing to a ?permanent day light saving time? either. That would lengthen the hours of darkness in the winter mornings and really serve no purpose. It does not make sense to continue this practice. Continuing with day light savings time causes health problems and disrupts work production. There is a considerable amount of expense, financial and physical, that goes into making the shift twice a year. It seems appropriate to recall an old Indian saying and cite it here: ?Only the government would believe that you could cut a foot off the top of a blanket, sew it to the bottom, and have a longer blanket.? I think it?s time to stop trying to fool the American people, and look at this honestly ? revert back to standard time permanently.

Please end daylight savings time. it is not necessary anymore and is outdated. We are the only country to do this and it's silly to continue.

I grew up in Indiana when there was no time switch there. They did try it one year and the results were awful, so they went back. It's a stupid idea for modern times and needs to be stopped.
