We've had Doberman's for more than 20 years and would not have any other breed. A total of 3 and raised our children with them. This breed has served our country with distinction and deserve respect. This ban is foolishness. -

Have had at least one, usually 2 at a time, Doberman's in my life for 5 decades-They are loyal, gentle, love pleasing & training. Only time I've been bitten was a Chihuahua! Shame on the Army! They MUST repeal this foolish Ban!!!REPORT COMMENTS

Ask any Marine who served in the Pacific in WWII about Dobies. He will probably tell you how many lives the dogs saved.REPORT COMMENTS

Dobes can be trained to be service dogs. Not all Dobes are aggressive. I have trained one to be a mobility service dog. Great disposition.REPORT COMMENTS

ANY dog can be a problem if not raised by responsible people. If our military personell do not meet the criteria of responsible - people willing to give their very lives for our freedom - then who does? Let each dog 'speak' for itself - the same way you evaluate each recruit - on an individual basis!REPORT COMMENTS

Dobies are the most trusting & kind dog I have ever owned & I have owned many. In fact my Springer was a more aggressive dog than any of my dobies. :)REPORT COMMENTS

While there undoubtedly bad dogs, there is no such thing as a vicious, dangerous breed of dog. Any dog can be made mean but almost dogs all love people and, properly trained and socialized, fit well in any environment. My Dobermans are rescues thrown away by other people, I'd trust any of them with my life. I've helped in the rescue of hundreds of Dobermans who have become loved family members - trusted and reliable. No family could ask for a more loyal, loving dog than a Doberman.REPORT COMMENTS

I believe the people should get a chance of getting the dog trained and maybe even get manner tested on Post. I also think that the military families are giving up so much to serve theire country, now also the choice of welcoming the pet they want in the family. Like i ve said the family should get a chance and regulations maybe make all those with so called dangerous dogs, attent to a dog training, i am willing to do that if i can keep my dog.REPORT COMMENTS

The real problem are the owners... Not a particular kind of dog. My friend owns a mix of Doberman and pitbull and she is super sweet.REPORT COMMENTS

I was raised with Dobermans, learning to walk by leaning on my first one. So were my brother and sister. All of our friends loved our dogs and they NEVER bit anyone. They are the most loving kind and loving animals!REPORT COMMENTS
