Research has shown that by having a parent in a correctional facility increases the risk for the children to follow in their foot steps. Just recently more inmates are facing longer prison stays which affects the family greatly. My husband is currently awaiting for his sentences for his felonies. He has been out of jail and waiting for his court appearance for 8 months now. He has turned his life around since his jail time and being a wonderful husband and father of our 3 young children. His lawyer says he will get prison time, we are just not sure for how long. Missouri really needs these visits so our children can see their father and that I may see my husband. Family is one of The most important things in life. We all deserve to spend time together. People make mistakes. The whole family shouldn't have to suffer.REPORT COMMENTS

These visits will definately improve the family lives of inmates allowing them to be more involved in their childrens lives and allowing a decrease in violence in the prison due to the stress of inmates not spending time with their loved ones.REPORT COMMENTS

My fiancé is going to be in prison for the next 9 years and it is going to be hard leaving him each time I see him. I would love to spend more time with him more than just a few hours. I live in Wisconsin and have to go to another state to see him and its hard financial wise. I would love for this bill to pass so I can be in his arms.REPORT COMMENTS

my fiancé is in prison for a while and we are planning on getting married soon. I think having these visits would help us in the journey of spending the rest of our lives together.
