Considering how The People vote for who gets a seat in Congress, The People must be the one's to choose the pay. Government positions are to serve the country, not get a fat paycheck at the end of the day. Have some respect for our country. -

Congress can pay its own way. I am an RN and work a difficult job. My taxes are ridiculous, I feel I have no say in how the money taken from my check is spent, and congress is not doing a thing to forward any improvements. What a waste of the hard work of Americans.REPORT COMMENTS

A government that votes for thier own pay raises is not a government of the people!! We work for our pay/salaries, and we cannot dictate it's worth or value , a just government should not either!! So why should these comfortable dinosaurs!REPORT COMMENTS

I think that it isn't fair that the senate continually gets pay increases even though they accept money from bigger businesses to ignore what's right for the citizens of the United States and only focus on how they can keep their seat to experience a nice pension plan after five years.REPORT COMMENTS

They should not only have their pay cut and some perks taken away, but they should also be limited to office not more than 4 years and have to be re-elected for office at the 2 year mark. When they are done with their 4 years if they were to make it that far, then they should not be able to get a continued pay check for life. They should have to go out and find another job just like the rest of us and learn how to live without all the easy money we provide to them while in office. Such free loaders. Our military does not get this kind of treatment, yet most retire at 20 plus years and they get their pay cut in half, I want to understand why they think they deserve to get their entire paycheck after 5 years in office. Getting sick and tired of them taking from the poor for their benefit.REPORT COMMENTS
