Considering how The People vote for who gets a seat in Congress, The People must be the one's to choose the pay. Government positions are to serve the country, not get a fat paycheck at the end of the day. Have some respect for our country.

I wish we had working class citizens representing us in this country. Anyone who's worked 40 to 80 hours a week to support ourselves and our families. They don't dont know what struggle is.

Congress can pay its own way. I am an RN and work a difficult job. My taxes are ridiculous, I feel I have no say in how the money taken from my check is spent, and congress is not doing a thing to forward any improvements. What a waste of the hard work of Americans.

I think Congress should put the retirement age back to 65 and cut out all their perks and expense account or out Congress although. We have a Senate, do we really need all these political dead weights draining the american working out of their hard earned money.

It is a rape of the American people that Congress can vote their own benefits, raises and vacations.

We (military members) already struggle to find shared homes, roommates and I've know of people getting a part time jobs. How can you serve your country 24/7 and still Uber or work part time to get extra moneys? --Outrageous.

A government that votes for thier own pay raises is not a government of the people!! We work for our pay/salaries, and we cannot dictate it's worth or value , a just government should not either!! So why should these comfortable dinosaurs!

We should get to determine what they get for retirement as it's our money they're being paid.

I think that it isn't fair that the senate continually gets pay increases even though they accept money from bigger businesses to ignore what's right for the citizens of the United States and only focus on how they can keep their seat to experience a nice pension plan after five years.

I'm not good at writing my thoughts down, but I do agree with what Shawn M from Fallon ,NV wrote. I want them to make it easier for the American people to see them vote, for benefits, they give themselves but take away from other American that can't do for themselves.

How can Congress pass laws and requirements to the American people and they have their own set of rules. Example: Healthcare, benefits, Social Security, retirement benefits etc...

They should not only have their pay cut and some perks taken away, but they should also be limited to office not more than 4 years and have to be re-elected for office at the 2 year mark. When they are done with their 4 years if they were to make it that far, then they should not be able to get a continued pay check for life. They should have to go out and find another job just like the rest of us and learn how to live without all the easy money we provide to them while in office. Such free loaders. Our military does not get this kind of treatment, yet most retire at 20 plus years and they get their pay cut in half, I want to understand why they think they deserve to get their entire paycheck after 5 years in office. Getting sick and tired of them taking from the poor for their benefit.

They need to learn to live on the kind of salary we get and they are not special and when they go into office many of the don't have much money but after in there for a while they leave very rich.
