These animals deserve a better life and WE must join together to put a stop to the abuse, neglect and torture. Report these offenders and refuse there right to own any pet once convicted. Caleb's death affected me deeply like so many others. There are not words to describe how painful it is to imagine the hell this innocent puppy went through. Rehabilitate non-violent offenders and convict animal abusers. They have no place in a civilized society. Georgia Code Title 16-12-4-Cruelty To Animals...1st conviction-probation, misdemeanor....2nd violation not to exceed 12 months, fine not to exceed,$5,000 or both. Aggravated cruelty-maliciously causes death or physical harm, prison not less than 1 not more than 5. Fine not to exceed $15,000. These laws of such pettiness doesn't become even remotely a punishment that fits the crime. We are talking about a living breathing, with feelings, a mind and most of all UNCONDITIONAL LOVE that doesn't stop to think well I think I'll just not smile, give kisses, hugs, their attention, their loyalty, their compassion, their HEART!! Dogs and cats,they are domesticated to be with us in the home. They trust us just like children and our elderly. Its an all around circle, we all affect each other, so we need respect for all, respect life, human and animal. Its all the same. We are dealing with human beings that mame and kill and it is WRONG AND UNETHICAL! Laws need to change not only here in Georgia but all states across the board.
