pls read this petition and understand the horror that's occurring. i know i don't have to explain why this is so tragic to you, congressmen and congresswomen. many, many of you are from agricultural states--you know the value of animals, and no doubt you are an animal lover yourself. if a lobbyist or other money interest is involved in your decision, this will be known and you will lose votes next time around, count on it. please work toward protecting horses in this country. they were foundational in settling this country, and they are a picture of freedom and beauty today and always. thank you for doing the right thing, not the politically safe thing.REPORT COMMENTS

Americans come forward to state on more than one occasion that we do not want our horses slaughtered. The "excess" horse problem can be controlled with other logical and humane solutions. As it stands now our government is willingly allowing toxic food products to originate within our borders and then be shipped overseas. We railed against the Chinese for doing this to us. Are we in reality no better?REPORT COMMENTS

How can anyone in their right mind think that slaughtering these wonderful, companion animals is OK...do you think we need to have puppy and kitty kitchens set up here also??? We ARE NOT A THIRD WORLD COUNTRY YET.....REPORT COMMENTS

Horses built this country. Do we thank them by slaughtering them. If we do, we have execrable manners. Pass S1176 now.REPORT COMMENTS
