This is not a surprise. There are other ways to create jobs for people. Horses have been around for a very long time. I have horses and they are my family. To think this could happen again is awful . -

We have needed to restore the humane slaughter of horses for a long time, and there are horses that people cannot afford to feed because they need the money to feed their family. It would help the horse market that is flooded with horses that are not longer functional, and would provide a better way to remove outlaw type horses who are a danger to people and themselves.REPORT COMMENTS

People that now, in this economy, often can't afford to care for their horses and end up turning them out to fend for themselves because they can't even afford to take them to the salebarn. Then people such as myself end up with these animals that badly undernourished and starving. Give us back our right of choice.REPORT COMMENTS

We have had an abandoned horse dropped in our pasture last year. We can not sell our unwanted horses for their full value without this option available. It leads to a stronger horse industry and is the best way to dispose of these horses in the most humane way.REPORT COMMENTS

The horse industry and the people that make a living with horses are the ones that see the most suffering from unwanted and starving horses!REPORT COMMENTS

Horses are suffering more now then they did when slaughter was legal. Seeing the horses turned out to starve or starving in backyards shows you that there are worse things then death.REPORT COMMENTS

We all need to put dignity back in aging and diseased horses. In Nevada, Oregon and Utah, they are being released into the wild to breed and spread diseases with wild horses which has created a mixed breed type of wild horse population.REPORT COMMENTS
