What happened to Congress stating that no one could touch Disability Social Security? The Department of Education bought out student loans and they are having a COLLECTION AGENCY take money from my disability check and I have no say in it! I graduated as an alternative student (older and returning to school) two years ago with $120,000 in student debt. This debt is comprised of federal and private loans. Now that balance is over $140,000 even though I have been making payments the entire time. At this rate, my social security payments will be garnished to pay my student loans. I can never make enough money to pay the minimum $2,000 each month and have enough left over to buy my family groceries. This system is terribly broken. And now, so am I.REPORT COMMENTS
