"Congress must take a stand against this government sponsored, predatory lending system by returning the standard bankruptcy protections that should never have been taken away if we are to see a stabilization of this lending system, which now teeters on the brink of illegitimacy."Oct 16th, 2015Someone from North Brunswick, NJ signed.

We all went to college to improve ourselves, our lives, our families, our communities, our country. We trusted our schools and universities as our partners in this endeavor. Paying back what we borrowed is fair. Paying multiple times over what we borrowed for decades due to legal loan sharking is NOT. Please support us. Thank you!REPORT COMMENTS

Prohibiting people who invested everything available to them in the great promise of education, but who find exploding competition, outsourcing, and a host of other critical factors beyond their control from salvaging their lives through bankruptcy procedures open to so many others is unethical and counterproductive. It's akin to condemning to indentured servitude those who, despite arduous work competing for vanishing jobs and increasingly low-wage positions--challenges compounded by exorbitant costs of living everywhere, didn't win the survival-wages lottery. The effects on individuals, families, and communities can be catastrophic.REPORT COMMENTS
