My local PBS stations are WCVE FM 88.9, WCVE HD 23.1 and WCVW HD 57.1. I have enjoyed their local, national and international programming for years.

In the continuing efforts to offer U.S. children sub-standard education, removing PBS makes perfect sense. A large populace poised to become slaves. Good one.

Public broadcasting doesn't have drinking, cursing or smoking is actually educational. Our country kind of needs that! You might want to reconsider restoring funding for allowing the"arts" to return to public schools.

PBS has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. Shows like Frontline and POV report stories in a factual, unbiased way. I am sure there are many other avenues that could be pursued to reduce our national debt. I can't imagine where most rational, thinking adults will go for truly "fair and balanced" news coverage.

Keep PBS funding. PBS has been a go to for our family, not only for myself, my children but now for my grandchildren! PBS strengthens and enriches us!

Sesame Street and Mister Rogers helped raise me when my folks were at work trying to keep food on our table and a roof over our heads. I'm the 47%, and I'm asking you to please keep PBS alive. Please, don't punish the future of tomorrow, we need them!! Peace to all...

PBS made a huge difference in my children's lives as they grew up, from Sesame Street to The Electric Company to Nova. Now their children are watching PBS. I love the programming and will fight with all Americans to keep this national treasure.

I can't stomach the thought of raising my son in a world where Sesame Street doesn't exist. There are lessons from Sesame Street and Mr. Rogers' Neighborhood that I remember to this day. The minuscule amount, comparatively speaking, that the US spends on PBS is nothing compared to the immeasurable value it imparts to this nation's children. How can you say you're "for education" and in the same breath want to take away such a precious and beloved educational resource? It's an incredibly short-sighted waste. Save PBS, at *all* costs.

The first episode of Sesame Street aired when I was 6 months old. I grew up singing with Big Bird, Oscar, Ernie, Bert and the non fur and felt folks like Maria, Luis and Mr. Hooper. No cable. Just 3 networks and PBS. No computer animation...just some great people with puppets and a lovely message of tolerance, sharing, friendship and stewardship. I hear many politicians talk of going back to "the good old days" when there were "family values." Is Sesame Street and the other very worthy programs of PBS not part of that equation? Please do not marginalize those who ask for your consideration by thinking this is about puppets. To do so is to completely miss the point. I plan to continue to support my local PBS station here in Orlando and remain ever hopeful that no matter what occurs on November 6, funding and grants for PBS remain intact. Thank you.

In an age where truth is bought and sold like a commodity on most news networks--PBS offers a trustworthy and balanced alternative. And where will we be in the future if our children are raised only on the fluff and empty advertising offered on commercial television. At 51 I have grown up with Public Television and I have to wonder how much smaller my mind and my world view would have been without programs like Sesame Street and Mr. Roger's Neighborhood. Please don't let this national treasure be stolen from our nation's future!
