When I was a little girl, I would run home from school every day at 3 o'clock to watch Mister Roger?s Neighborhood. I could have chosen any number of cartoons to watch but I always chose to watch Mister Rogers because his show allowed my imagination to soar. PBS has been an integral part of my life for too many years to list! My son, who has autism, would sit, in front of the television, mesmerized by Elmo in his younger days. Even though he is now 16 years old, he still watches Arthur every morning before he goes to school. PBS is the only safe place left on television for our children. Unfortunately, we live in a society where schooling doesn't happen for all children. PBS allows children the opportunity to imagine, to learn, and grow. The programs on PBS spark creativity in our children. They help teach our children how to be responsible, how to treat others, and how to make a difference in this world. Please continue to fund PBS. With so few good and wholesome things left in this world, please don?t take it away from our children.Oct 7th, 2012Someone from Davidsonville, MD signed.

I am doing my part by giving to my local PBS station. You do yours. Children need Big Bird and Mr. Rogers. Adults need Frontline and Masterpiece Theatre.REPORT COMMENTS
