I watched Sesame Street as a child and my two children watch it. It's great to have an "intelligent" choice in tv programing. Save PBS.Oct 31st, 2012Someone from Brunswick, ME signed.

Having a public television station that isn't driven by advertisers and is accessible to everyone is so important, especially when it comes to children's television. Not to mention Public TV makes up such a miniscule amount of the annual budget that the idea of eliminating it to fix the deficit is completely absurd. That's like putting a bandaid on when you've slit your throat. Not to mention all the jobs that would be lost, which would hurt the still-stagnant economy even more. Keep PBS on the air! I want my kids to grow up watching sesame street, just like I did.REPORT COMMENTS

This is moronic! PBS makes billions every year from merchandise, the people that work there even can't figure out why the government gives them money. So pretty much this is like the fed giving billions in our money to Microsoft that they don't need.REPORT COMMENTS

As a native of NC and a graduate of UNC-Chapel Hill, PBS was a big part of my childhood educational experience before cable and satellite broadcasting was available to most residents in NC. PBS provides programming for everyone and especially for those who cannot afford to pay for television.REPORT COMMENTS

Public Television is often the only non-commercial television available to those who can't afford satellite or cable, or where these services are not available. As an educational, artistic or news resource, it's value is incalculable. Sesame Street helped me learn to read, taught me the value of sharing and dealing with emotions. Zoom showed me all sorts of kids doing creative and scientific experiments. My kids have grown up with Clifford, FETCH! and Zoboomafoo are three of their favorites. Don't lose this enormously valuable resource by cutting the budget when you can choose so many other wasteful spending sources instead.REPORT COMMENTS
