I grew up watching public television and listening to public radio. That early exposure to science, arts, education, news, and world affairs programming?without being interrupted by ridiculous commercials every ten minutes?was vital during those formative years. I attribute much of my success in life and general knowledge to public broadcasting. As an adult, I get my news and entertainment almost exclusively from local and national public media. The thoughtful, fair, and professional news coverage is the best there is. Public broadcasting is for *all* of us, regardless of income or race?a sign of true democracy. If the United States is to be an engaged, informed nation, we need a vibrant, well-funded public media system. Let's make it happen.Nov 1st, 2012Someone from Elizabeth, NJ signed.

Without Public Television I wouldn't be the person I am today. I was taught the joy of learning through PBS. I was a poor child growing up, and PBS was probably the one thing that kept me from going out and doing bad things.REPORT COMMENTS

Keep public broadcasting public! Our politicians need to support early childhood education like Sesame Street. Big Bird demands it!REPORT COMMENTS

Public broadcasting is the only media free from the influence of money. The largest news network and highest quality education network, it pays back in countless ways. Removing public funding is window dressing, a stunt, kicking the organization that doesn't bow to the political winds and actually encourages citizens to think!REPORT COMMENTS
