Early childhood education, such as that aided by PBS is key to the future of our country. It is a bargain!

PLEASE do not take away funding for public broadcasting. If you do, PBS will become another "cheapened" private broadcast, like Nickelodian for kids and Fox News (God forbid) for adults!

Sesame Street went to the streets to teach me when I was growing up. Taking it to the streets to save it is the least I can do in return.

My children learned that whenever there is a problem, the solution is "Let's cooperate!" That's good for America.

I'm a Sesame Street kid. My sister is a Sesame Street kid. Our kids will be Sesame Street kids. PBS is so much more than a channel. It's the first (and in some cases, only) at home learning provided without charge to children. Cutting it is something we can't really afford to do.

NEVER, EVER in my life would I have imagined not only that such important funding would be slashed, but that it would be paraded out there so blatantly. Oh, wait, I remember now: 47%'s KIDS watch that stuff and are in danger of becoming LITERATE and therefore EMPOWERED. 'Nuff said.

This is sheer insanity. PBS is one of the things about this country I am proudest of, and I cannot fathom how anyone would want to destroy it. As an investment, THIS is something that gives you immense return for a small amount of money. Anyone who would shut this source of information and entertainment down has NO CONCEPT of what is truly benefitting our people. Bet Romney never watched it, or let his kids watch!

Republicans and Democrats LOVE PBS and Big Bird. Can't believe Romney said that. Just shows where his interest lay. I hope your march is all over the news!!! I will be watching. Wish I could be there.

So little of the US Budget supports so much good done by the Corporation for Public Broadcasting. CPB is a collaboration between public and private sectors to bring excellent programs to even the most out-of-the-way places in the US. Don't abandon something so wonderful that works so well!

To cut funding for PBS is not only cutting the American people from quality programing, but more American's would lose jobs...which our country should not stand for at this time of economic crisis left us from the previous administration. My son is now 32 yrs. old and was raised with Sesame St. and Big Bird. I even took him to see Sesame St. Live when he was 4 yrs. old. That's how long we have loved and respected this program. Public Broadcasting exibits masterful television worth watching. What would we do if we had no educational TV programs to channel to, not only for adults but as a tremendous learning tool for our children. I personally would miss the songs of James Taylor or classic R/B music, The Celtic Women, Dr. Wayne Dyer, etc. etc. etc. and our children would have a great loss if "The Muppets" are canceled. They have been around fors long because PBS has given us TV worth watching. Wake up Capital Hill and stop doing nothing to save those things that are importantant to the citizens of this great nation and save PBS. Appreciation for the Arts, Music and Educational Programing is what they offer our people. The statement made by Mitt Romney has got to be one of the most outragous ideas he has had yet, along with many, many others. Maybe he ought to consider a sizeable donation with all his money to help keep PBS on.

A whole year of PBS funding, is 6 minutes of Pentagon funding. You can tell the soul of a country by where their money is spend.

Romney claims to be for education.. then would someone please explain to me why he is threatening to take away free education to our children. My nephew loves Elmo and I can't wait to show to him all the good old PBS shows like Mr Rogers Neighborhood. I would much prefer Children watch that then Spongebob ANY day!
