For some families, dogs are siblings, children, loved and cared for in the same way we love our human family. This heartbreak has to end.Jul 21st, 2013Someone from Hoboken, NJ signed.

We teach our children at a young age that police are supposed to help us. What example are they showing kids that hurt animals? Why would any child run to an officer??REPORT COMMENTS

This is just an outrage that the government is not doing more to save these dogs. They should be ashamed of all of the law enforcement police officers that have killed non-aggressive dogs for no reason at all. They should be totally removed from there jobs without pay, no medical benefits, no 401k, and should be stripped of all of the benefits and removed from there position immediately, and not just put on administrative leave they should be fired and brought up on charges for ANIMAL ABUSE AND A HIGH FINE WITH JAIL TIME. THERE SHOULD ALSO BE AN ANIMAL ABUSERS REGISTRY LIST AND THIS OFFICER AND MANY MORE SHOULD BE PUT ON IT. This would be the ideal way to keep track of who is abusing our pets and stealing from us to use them as bate dogs..This is just WRONG AND IT NEEDS TO STOP NOW!!!!! OUR PETS ARE FAMILY MEMBERS TO US AND DESERVE BETTER!!!!! I thought the law was to protect us well it hasn't and the police are not the ones you can trust any more because of fear of them killing our family members like our pets.. This law needs to protect our pets and stop the police from killing them for no reason..REPORT COMMENTS

Law enforcement needs to be trained how to deal with animals in the field using non-lethal techniques. Dogs are our family and should be treated as such.REPORT COMMENTS

We think of pets as family members so in reality when the government does this to our loving pets all it's doing is making the govemment look bad. This needs to stop all over the country and in fact all over the world!REPORT COMMENTS

I love my dogs. They are my family members. They are friendly and loving dogs. If they accidentally got out I do not want them shot by the police. Something needs to be done to stop all the needless deaths because cops get trigger happy. Just because they have a badge and a gun does not mean they can kill people's pets and get away with it. If it was just a average person we would go to jail for shooting a dog and for firing a gun with in city limits and probably half a dozen other charges. Cops need to be held to higher standards than to just shoot a dog then say it was vicious and get away with it .REPORT COMMENTS
