Police should be trained to use lethal force as a last resort and especially when it comes to defenseless animals!REPORT COMMENTS

The police should all ve mandated for this. The fact that I have to live in fear of my fur kids being shot by a power starved cop makes me sick. RIP MAX AND ALL OTHER DOGS WRONGFULLY KILLED. Unfortunately I dobt think Max is the last...REPORT COMMENTS

This is happening EVERY day, some animal-ignorant, trigger happy cop killing a FAMILY MEMBER for NO reason. The dog barked?? That's NORMAL behavior. Dogs bark a warning when they sense a threat, especially to their loved ones. It's disgusting, sickening and pathetic that so many members of law enforcement are so clueless. It has to stop NOW.REPORT COMMENTS

More and more often we see and hear about trigger-happy, incompetent, policemen with anger issues shoot and kill innocent family pets. This needs to STOP. Our animals are our family and no incompetent, angry, policeman has the right to take out his/her frustrations on an innocent animal. Please make it mandatory to train police and all law enforcement personnel in the ethical treatment of family pets as well as all animals. Screen CAREFULLY for anger issues when admitting individuals to police academy. The wrong individual will be a threat to society .REPORT COMMENTS

To many have suffered due to police officers not being correctly trained to handle situations involving calls where dogs are presents..too many dogs are paying that price and that has to STOP NOW. Educate and train them that lethal force as a first response is not acceptable. I think the police municipality should have to pay and the police officer(s) should be prosecuted to the full extent of the law.REPORT COMMENTS

We need to change the laws to prevent police officers from needlessly gunning down down dogs like Max who was shot 4 Times by the Hawthorne police in LA California.REPORT COMMENTS

there is a particular case of a pet in hawthorne california, where a rottweiller was shot and killed. that incident has led me to participate in this petition. it is absolutely necessary that police officers know how to apprehend domestic pets in situations like this. there are domestic disputes commonly treated the same way, NON LETHAL FORCEREPORT COMMENTS
