How can we responsibly continue to support either a House of Representatives or a Senate when neither entitiy shows even the slightest interest in preserving the integrity of the nation above their own personal goals? Todays congressman is not influenced by the voters in his district, but by the financial support he recieves from his corperate backers, backers which will only continue to support him in his re election bids if his time in office is spent fufilling the promises he made to his financial backers on his multi million dollar campaign. If we truly want to find our faith in our elected representatives we need to limit campaign donations from the private sector, and set a maximum amount for any campaign. Only when the power to elect truly rests in the hands of voters will our elected representatives truly care about our issues, perhaps for the wrong reasons, but from this congress, we can only ask so ****ing much.REPORT COMMENTS
