I support this bill H.R 3012. I am a Manager for a Nanotechnology related company and have been waiting for 7.5 years for a Greencard. Without passage of this bill, I would have to wait another 7 + years which is not fair.

Think of the next time you have to spend hours in the ER or weeks for a physician appointment. Opening up the Green Cards would tremendously improve the physician shortage, which currently runs into thousands. If it had not been for the easy immigration in the 80's, many of our talented senior physicians would not be here. We need this to continue. Few in this country have gone through medical care without meeting a physician from Asia. A large number of dedicated physicians working in the VA, in rural and underserved areas are from India, and it is unfair to keep them hanging without a secure foundation. The greater good from removing the quota's far exceeds any problem.

By passing this bill you are allowing highly skilled competitive individuals with advanced degrees in science and engineering to reside and work in the U.S by eliminating per-country caps on employment-base, irrespective of their country, religion and race. it simply evens out the process for all highly skilled professionals. Because of this per-country limit, a country like India, with a population of 1.2 billion, is limited to the same number of visas as a country like Iceland, with a population of 300,000. Everyone knows that is not fair.
