I cannot support US intervention in another country's civil war. And I encourage my fellow citizenry to think and feel above the fray of political opinion and act out of genuine compassion. History over the last 300 + years has taught us, mankind, that it is not effective. (Regardless of how much money is spent, nor most sadly, how many jobs are thought to be created). The US shows grace and sagacity only by sheltering, supporting, and advocating for the refugees and dissidents who refuse to engage in bloodshed as means to a political end. No country's resources

Free Tunisia Association's position towards this military conflict in Syria : An Open Letter. 29 août 2013, 00:31 Free Tunisia Association condemn the foreign military intervention in Syria after an alleged chemical weapons attack near Damascus. Free Tunisia Association, an NGO with a strong commitment for human rights, non-violence and peace, fear that this intervention may lead to subsequent intensifying and more devastating consequences on the already instable situation in the Middle East. An intervention which could cause more of the already amount of suffering, displacement and destruction caused by the internal conflicts within the country, where the world has already witnessed assaults on the fundamental right to life with massacres, indiscriminate attacks on civilians, executions of prisoners, torture, with women and girls having been raped, and children abducted to serve as soldiers. Free Tunisia Association encourage all efforts to prevent or end these conflicts with measures aimed at reducing human rights abuses in situations of violence, and by respecting the rule of law and human rights as key elements in the peace-building efforts by the involved parties. Maitre Hazem KSOURI, lawyer, President of Free Tunisia Association

Support president Obama military action against the regime in Syria to stop the genocide against the Syrian people. There is no evidence that the current regime is interested in anything but continued oppression.

The Syrian American Council (SAC) Tampa Bay Chapter together with our Syrian American Community members of Hernando County would like to share several points for consideration. The Congressional voting towards the American strike on the Syrian dictator will not only have a positive more stabilizing presence in Syria, but inevitably the whole region as well.  A strong stabilizing presence in the region will be the ultimate goal for the national interest of the U.S.  A prolonged brutal massacre in Syria will build resentment and anger not only throughout Syria but also with every single refugee that have spilled across bordering countries. This in turn will ignite an unsettling of the whole region.  This is not good for the U.S. national interest. The unprecedented criminal acts by the Syrian regime, including the recurrent use of chemical weapons towards innocent civilians should not be tolerated.  The President clearly sated on a global platform that this was a line not to be crossed. America's international clout will be compromised if  inaction is the path we take.  No boots on the ground is required to complete this mission. As secretary Kerry indicated in his testimony, there will be zero financial burden on the US because the Arab gulf countries including Saudi Arabia( our vital national interest in the region) have already pledged to cover 100% of the cost.  They are very wary of the Iranians  who are using Assad as a mean to create instability in the region to better their own national interest. We need to support the moral drive of our President towards the authorization of an American strike which will ultimately lead to the destruction and collapse of the most fascist dictator in recent history. The President has defined this crisis as an assault on human dignity.  The whole world has idly  witnessed the continuous slaughter carried by the Syrian Regime for two and a half years.  With Russia and Iran supplying the Syrian Regime with heavy artillery, the onslaught of destruction has no foreseeable end.   With the present political complexity of the Syrian crisis  and the upcoming American strike, our Syrian American community is advocating for bipartisan congressional support from all national humanitarian committees, agencies and organizations. We strongly believe in the rebirth of the paralyzed International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) and other committees such as International Federation of the Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) who have been unable to fulfill the Geneva  Treaty. The implementation of this humanitarian law will gain support for our president and in turn will rally the UN and the whole nation towards a mission for humanity.     Both our SAC members and the Syrian American community stand strong behind Republican John McCain?s experienced vision of a calculated strike which will target the dictator.  We also support the reform of the Free Syrian Army (FSA) who will carry on the responsibility of the

First of all. There is plenty of evidence, showing that Bashar al-Assad was not behind the chemical attacks in Syria. In fact the Al-Nusra Front has claimed it was their doing. The Al-Nusra Front is a wing of Al-Qaeda, seemingly supported by your government and using weapons and armor made in the U.S. (So why are you supporting Al-Qaeda, the same group of people, you claim was responsible for 9/11?) Did I mention that Al-Nusra are also the once beheading christian priests in Syria, cutting out hearts of civilians and eating them? (Yes I saw that video, it was not pleasant) Also recently, they beheaded a whole bus of civilians, inclueding a baby. Second of all. Why are you still pushing for action in Syria, when the majority (70-80% by my count) of the American people are pleading you not to? In fact many U.S citizens are calling their elected officials non-stop, hoping to get their point across that they do not want the U.S to take action in Syria. They want you to fix your own country, not police the world. Third of all. Why in heavens name would you want to take action in Syria when President Putin of Russia has stated, that Russia will assist Syria in case of any foreign interference in Syria. Are you aware that you are close to starting a third World War? Or is this what you want, so that you can get your economy back on track? If so, why not just be honest about it? Why all the lies to the American people? So many lies has been spotted already, so many lifes has been lost already. And at the same time, just as many lifes are lost each week in Chicago. Why are you not focusing on fixing your own country, before you try to "save" and police the rest of the world. It is not your job. Fix your own country, become a rolemodel for your citizens and unite the American people. Once you have done that, we can talk about you trying to save the rest of the world. Because right now, you are no role model that anyone should look up to. I beg of you, from deep down in my heart, all the way over here in Denmark. That you stay out of Syria and take care of your own people first. The American people deserve better from all of you. They need you more than Syria. Sincerely Jacob Hermansen Just some danish guy.
