It has started in my little city of Chino Hills. A "maternity hotel" is operating in our residential area... out of zone...out of cuilding codes. Local jurisdictions are involved in enforcement but it's hard to close it down with the 14th amendment in place.REPORT COMMENTS

I believe that in this time of fiscal crisis, the US could save a great deal of money this way. That law was initially enacted to encourage immigration and population growth, but we no longer need that. It will not inhibit our influx of immigrants one bit. It is only causing the US more problems than it's worth and creating chaos in the health care industry. There are some women who's entire living is having children in the US to keep her here on welfare, their children admitting as such. That is an unnecessary drain on our system, which is specifically designed to help Americans in need, not to assist those from other countries who don't like their own home countries anymore. We cannot support the world, and have to realize that before we become over-populated and poor.REPORT COMMENTS

Specify the MOTHER must be a LEGAL, otherwise illegal females can continue giving birth to citizens by claiming the Father is LEGAL. Note some of these people will look for the loop holes and possible charge for the use of their legal status, just as people have charged to marry so people can stay in this country. Cover all the bases when writing the requirements. What are the rules in other countries (many have recently changed their laws).
