Dear Obama and administration, I voted for you because you said you cared about the environment. You are supposed to be public servants not corporate minions! It is an atrocity that you stand there with your hands in your pockets, lined with money no doubt, while the gulf of mexico is destroyed and the lives of not just the animals but the people you serve are ruined! We shouldn't have to sign petitions to get your attention on this matter. Shame on you! Sincerely, Rachael Otto

Another tragedy to add to a history of blatant disregard for the citizens of the world in an ongoing quest for more money that only goes to the powerful and greedy directors/administration.

The destruction will be incomprehensible. Proven tactics have not been employed to save the Gulf of Mexico from the damage. BP The US, Mexico, and allies should help in this time of great disaster, because not only will it help the Americas, but it will prevent the rest of the world from suffering due to this MAN-MADE tragedy.

Absolutely crazy that the government would purchase oil from BP after all they have done and are doing to our enviornment. To encourage BP to line their pockets with government money to fuel our military is disgusting!!

Conditional to again accepting contract bids for providing petroleum products to the U.S. Government, the company shall provide with such bids proof that the petroleum products came from an inspected rig complying with the most stringent standards of safety and fault tolerance. Inspection shall require demonstration of a safety shut off.

It is no wonder that this is the anti incumbents season. We voted for a democratic majority because we were "hopeing" for pro same sex rights, sustainable environmental, Anti war legislation. And all we see are those we put our dreams and ideals into, dragging their feet and playing party politics. It would sadden me and others greatly if you lose the majority and those who got us into this mess and could careless about all of the formentioned issues are revoted in. Which is exactly whats going to happen if you continue this charade. I'm tired of eloquent speechs, I want change I can believe in...and Im starting to believe thats only possible via independant party votes.

When the big shots from BP make statements, like I want my life back, and you can get shrimp from places other than Louisiana, it irks me that the US gives them permission to drill and they Kill our natural resources. How do you fix that? I agree with a contract rescind with this company because of the damage they are taking way too long to fix.
