Our first grandchild was born still, but was still born. Until you experience the cries of your grown son trying to tell you of this tragic event, which brings tears to my eyes just reliving it, you cannot know the pain and sadness the "whole family" experiences during this time. Our baby Jordan Ruth was born; my children held their child for 4 hours before having to give her up; we speak of her, say her name, walk in her memory every year through Angel Names Association. Having a certificate of stillbirth will offer some documentation of her existence, although she will forever be in our hearts. Our children are lucky--they have 2 sets of parents who love them and are always there for support. Some are not so fortunate and/or are told to try to forget. God has also blessed them with a healthy baby girl who will one day learn about the sister she never got to meet. I absolutely support the Stillbirth/SUID Bill (S 1862, HR 3418).
