The Army is blowing smoke. The Guard does it better and "cheaper".Nov 16th, 2014Someone from Holts Summit, MO signed.

The parochialism and nearsightedness displayed by the Active Component is bordering on dereliction of duty and for the AC senior leadership, dangerously close to conduct unbecoming. A total disgrace to the concept of our military...none of which is at the shooters' level. Thus is all a construct of senior most leadership. The shooters KNOW they are interchangeable. Disgusting!REPORT COMMENTS

Disarming the guard is right down the same alley aa disarming the citizens. It puts the nation at risk.REPORT COMMENTS

The National Guard provides a great purpose for everyone. In my experience from previous deployment, the National Guards men and women were more experienced and reactive in repairing, resetting, and daily maintenance compared to the Active component that came in to replace us. As far as stateside, I'm new to this unit so I have yet to see what great things we can do. But I understand Apaches are vital to the aid of the ppl if needed in a state emergency. They can provide the locations of ppl if trapped. Recons areas to provide Blackhawks the capabilities to assist in aids.REPORT COMMENTS

We need to keep reserve forces as a vital part of the "Total Force." There are now few combat units in the NG force structure while recent deployments confirm the success of combining active and Reserve/ National Guard units in combat (such as Apache Attack Helicopters) and combat support missions. Let's not try to fix what is not broken.REPORT COMMENTS
