I think this is a great idea...I have worked hard all my life and have never been opposed to odd jobs when needed.I do not use drugs I support my kids on my own and have asked for help once. It was an act of congress to get that help. I walked out of that office a noticed people getting out of brand new expensive cars to sign up for benefits. Cars cost money if you have no money how can you afford something like that? hmmm. Lets see, I have to work to get my money. I am subject to drug testing. I see no reason to NOT require it for people that receive money in assistance programs. Sure the testing would cost money, but just deduct the costs, from the programs. The downside is more cost to the programs for testing, reducing money available to the end users.. Or maybe so many people will fail that there would be more money. Then does the program offer rehab? Or just quit paying them. When could they re-apply? If testing positive, are they required to "probation" ? 3 strikes? Lots of depth to this idea of testing people... If people are associated with social workers, arent our social workers trained to recognize possible drug use? If so, then the social worker could require testing? I wouldnt mind testing to get free money. Anybody that does, is hiding something.REPORT COMMENTS
