Wild horses belong to all 300 million-plus Americans. Each of us holds a piece of the deed to these wild horses and burros that were an important contributor to the evolution of America and are symbolic of our heritage. Wild horses are just that -they are federally designated as wildlife -not livestock -and are protected under the laws of our land. Public lands are meant to be managed in trust for all of us in perpetuity and not for state boards, not for cattle ranchers, mining companies, oil drillers or for any private interest group whose only interested in making a profit. Together, the wild horses and burros are an endowment we share, and which we all pay to support. They deserve better treatment than they have been receiving!Aug 19th, 2016Someone from Fort Myers, FL signed.

The horses face the threat of extinction due to roundups, sterilization, and slaughter. Keep your promise to protect them. The latest GAO report on Unauthorized Grazing states that trespass grazing by cattle is pervasive and that the BLM does not document most cases. If they can't manage the cattle, how can anyone believe what they say about the horses? How many horses have been needlessly rounded up and sent to slaughter based on guesswork?REPORT COMMENTS

Wild horses and burros and being reduced to future extinction. Also more alarming is the "availability" of these beautiful animals being available for sale and slaughter after a convoluted assessment of being considered unadoptable or excess. The Burns amendment removed a significant portion of the already established protection.REPORT COMMENTS

Wild horses and burros are no threat to natural eco-systems, unlike the vastly too-large herds of cattle grazing on public land for the benefit of the greedy few whom the politicians serve.REPORT COMMENTS

This is the "DIRTY POLITICS" we, the people are sick and tired of! Most Americans are not aware that there are corrupt politicians working for special interest groups to eradicate ALL wild horses from OUR public lands. The Burns Amendment was added AFTER THE FACT and should be rescinded.REPORT COMMENTS

These wild horses and burros are disappearing because of the BLM. BLM is in favor of the welfare cattle ranchers. It is cattle and sheep that destroy grasslands, not the wild horses. Blm round ups are cruel, blm sterilization is cruel and the BLM lies about herd counts. This needs to be stopped. The BLM is suppose to protect the horses and burros not harm and destroy them.REPORT COMMENTS
