When will the citizens of this great country understand that the people we vote into office are not truly working for us. Their primary function is to find a way to get reelected, by any means, in order to continue collecting a paycheck. This is exactly what President Trump referred too as the "swamp."REPORT COMMENTS

Jul 24th, 2017Lisa H. from New Port Richey, FL writes:
Although this is a REALLY GOOD idea, isn't one of the ONLY WAYS to add a new amendment to the Constitution is to get Congress to 1) Write a Bill; and 2) Have them vote to pass it??? (And, BTW, the way that Congress can get around the ACA Act is the same way any Joe on the street can. They can either 1) Purchase Private Health Insurance that meets, or exceeds, all of the requirements of the ACA Act; OR 2) Get insurance through their place of employment that meets, or exceeds, the requirements of the ACA Act. THAT'S how Congress is getting "around" the Health Care Reform Act. Either they are personally paying for their own Private Health Insurance, or the Health Insurance plans that they are getting through their places of employment is meeting, or exceeding, what the 'Affordable Care Act' requirements are....) It's just that I don't see the majority of Congress willingly to give up all of their perks of being in office. We can't even get Congress to bring Marijuana down from a C-I Controlled Substance to a C-II. And even COCAINE is a C-II...!!!! (And for those of you who don't know, the abbreviated definition of a C-I Controlled Substance is something that has NO MEDICAL BENEFIT!!!! And the abbreviated definition for a C-II is that IT DOES have a medical benefit, but should be used with EXTREME CAUTION...) So, if we can't get Congress to no longer HAVE the possession/use/or sale be a FEDERAL CRIME... AND, if we can't get them to see reason, and bring Marijuana down from a C-I status to a C-II status.... ESPECIALLY WHEN MORE THAN 50% OF THE COUNTRY HAS PASSED MEDICAL MARIJUANA LAWS!!!! I just don't see this petition working... However, because I still believe in what it stands for, I will sign it.... And pray for the best....REPORT COMMENTS

It is time that citizens take action. As an a citizen I was required to work at least ten years before I qualified for retirement and 30 years to receive full benefits. Why not require our congress members to do the same. According to 28th Amendment they should adhere to the same laws as ordinary citizens.REPORT COMMENTS
