40 years in prison for a crime which he didn't commit? It is time to grant clemency to Leonard Peltier. The fact that there is no concrete evidence of his having done what he was convicted for points to the political motivations on the part of the US Government. End this farce now! Clemency now!REPORT COMMENTS

He did whatever he did, but it was in response to a gross violation of NA and human rights, invasion on sovereign land and a massive overreach on the part of the FBI, the administration, and other federal government entities. Moreover the government has concluded that there was not enough direct evidence to convict him of participation the murders in the first place. Others involved at th time are not in prison and haven't been for decades. It's (way past) time to grant clemency. Keeping him in prison because he doesn't agree with the federal government calling him a criminal is excessively punitive and a violation of his first amendment rights of free speech. The government is punishing him for not speaking the words it wants to hear.REPORT COMMENTS

I believe it is time for a president to step up and provide clemency for Mr. Peltier. While I am not an expert on his case, I do believe that there is reasonable doubt in his favor. Clemency would provide a much needed healing among our First Nation/Native American neighbors.REPORT COMMENTS

Please do this before your last 100 days. There is nothing so upsetting to see a President undertake an action, then have it undone by the next administration. Mr. Peltier deserves freedom, if not vindication. The discrepancies in this case are well documented. Thank you.REPORT COMMENTS

It is long past time for this political prisoner to be released from prison so he can spend his few remaining days with his family and community. If you don't grant Mr. Peltier clemency, I don't know anyone who will.REPORT COMMENTS

Please honor this petition for clemency; 40 years behind bars has certainly more than served as punishment for Leonard. I cannot think of any man more deserving of Executive Clemency!REPORT COMMENTS

What purpose would it serve to continue this vendetta against Leonard Peltier? I fail to see any legitimate rationale after the state had already exacted 40 years of punishing prison regime from him. Free Leonard Peltier now! !REPORT COMMENTS
