Dear President Obama - I've been following Mr. Peltier's case since I was an undergraduate major of History at Ohio University in 1992. I now teach courses as a professor of history, humanities, ethics, and leadership at a community college in a mountain town in Colorado. Mr. Peltier's case is one of gross racial injustice, and serves as a persistent reminder of the injustices served upon Native Americans (Tribes) historically and lasting through today. Please take the time to look at Mr. Peltier's case, and consider his clemency. I hate to say that this may be Mr. Peltier's last chance for end-of-term presidential pardon; and he and all of his supporters who know that he's innocent have been through so many of these now that we are in astonishment that we're here in 2016 still seeking clemency. Thank you. JeremyREPORT COMMENTS

Dear President Obama, release Leonard Peltier. Nobody ever proved that he murdered anyone. The crime that is happening now is that Leonard has been in prision all this time for nothing. Very sad. Right this wrong now.REPORT COMMENTS

Let's acknowledge the pain and suffering of the families, friends, and colleagues of agents Ronald Williams and Jack Coler... but also acknowledge that there's been no conclusive evidence that Leonard is the killer, and lots of indications that the trial that put him in prison was seriously flawed. His family, friends, and colleagues have suffered as well, certainly. Leonard has suffered for over 40 years. As an act of compassion and healing, let's get this man out of prison. There's no "justice" in keeping him there. It serves no purpose other than blind anger and vengeance.REPORT COMMENTS

Please release Leonard Peltier. He is wrongfully imprisoned and needs to be released after his time in prison. Native Americans have suffered enough and as a caucasian women who have fought for justice and walked with Martin Luther King I beg you to pardon him.REPORT COMMENTS

President Obama, Please take the time to educate yourself about Leonard Peltier. An unbiased, objective report will never be given to you by the FBI and therefore; if you wish to seek the truth - please seek out others. I know you understand the plight of minorities but do you recognize Native American People's unjust and continual negative connotations that Leonard Peltier's unjust incarceration represents to us? Until Leonard Peltier is released we will NEVER (or at least I will never) believe the sincerity of the United States government with respect to the American Holocaust and its attempt to exterminate the only true Indigent People that America has. Indeed, the travesties of the global world and ISIS are horrific acts of violence. I don't recall specific acts of beheading but my great great great grandma had her breasts cut-off so the US soldiers could play "catch" with them. I know of a 9-year old Indian boy who in 1856 was hung in the town square because he would grow up to kill the newly settled "Americans". This was the town's " adopted orphan" until the Indian Wars broke out. I could go on about horrific acts done to my ancestors but I won't. No, Leonard's clemency won't erase the history of the USA and my ancestors - but, it will begin the process when the good ol' USA admits the wrongful acts towards Leonard Peltier and when you President Obama sign the Executive Clemency Order releasing Leonard Peltier. Sincerely, Elaine LaBonteREPORT COMMENTS

In 1994 I took part in the prayers in Washington, D.C. at the end of the Walk for Justice. My son was about to turn 5. My son is 26 now. Leonard Peltier spent those years behind bars. He has served far too long for a crime that he did not commit. He is now 71, and in failing health. He speaks of suffering for his people. There is no other way to understand this long injustice. Please act for justice and free Leonard Peltier, Presdient Obama.REPORT COMMENTS
